View Full Version : Ctd - Tsatc
Played the 1956 scenario and was having fun watching redfor drive through my kill zones when I had a CTD with 3/4s of my force across the 3 Easting with 15 minutes to go until 0830 (the last Company was about 2km away).
I don't know what I was doing at the time, just right clicking on a Company icon I think...
I think this is a great scenario to play to get used to the engine.. simple forces, no arty... I'll play it again and see if I can complete the game. Later...
I love the way terrain works in this game... still getting used to being sure my formations are faced the right way. Wish there was a facing order... currently I am giving the formation a very short move order to get them to face the correct direction. Is this the proper procedure?

You are correct on the facing procedures - if you have them stop at the end of a set of nodes, they will automatically point north. Just remember that the last node should be placed in the direction you want the unit to face, and turn the next to last node to "stop" (red). This, I believe, is fixed in AATF.

Bil-
hit the 'O' (October, the letter, not Zero) to bring up the 'Options' screen. From there you can quickly change the viewing options. You can turn ON (or OFF) the Facing Direction arrows (which indicates what direction friendly and enemy units are facing with a small arrow on the unit icon). Arrows are small enough that I find you can play with them ON and still tell the unit type from icon.

BTW-
that 'Options' screen is pretty power. You can quickly customize the battlefield presention for all of the map zoom levels and the game remembers them as your profile. Play around with the different view options to get the one that you like best.
Thanks James. I have gotten pretty comfortable with the viewing options. I think they are one of the best parts of the game.
BTW I finished this battle finally... I also wrote an AAR, complete with screen shots of my first real battle in TSATC. Just need to find someway to post it ;)
