I have just finished a campaign battle played at dawn.

First my Port Artur cruisers, which have just separated from the 1st Squadron to do some commerce raiding, met unexpectedly with four Japanese 3rd squadron (Chitose, Takasago, Yoshino, Kasagi) - fast and well armed (2x203mm and plenty other guns). My cruisers, having sustained heavy damage, managed to drag the Japanese onto the Port Arthur battle force roughly in line abreast. The Japanese made 16 points turn and ran for it, but soon "Yoshino", last in line, started to lose speed. After a few minutes, when it became obvious that she is lost, the other three Japanese increased their speed to maximum and made away.

It must have been fixed in one of the patches, because previously I managed to pick off whole Japanese squadrons, because they were adjusting their speed to the slowest one in line.

Thats interesting - thats exactly what was happening to me - but good to hear it might have been fixed

I've seen that happen in computer generated battles before the latest patch.

A Japanese destroyer force left behind a cripple destroyer that my cruiser finished off, but I couldn't catch the rest of the line.

But I've never come across that in a campaign. Probably because I'm the one getting battered instead of the AI. :D
