The dev's are on a roll.
Still not sure what they do, but I s'pose it fixes bugs of one sort or another :D.

Stop!!! I want to play a campaign:laugh:
Anyone feel like giving the campaign a spin to see if the mine and ammo bugs are fixed?

I just did exactly that, brand new campaign v.1006 - the mine problem remains, didnt check the ammo issue but my understanding is that is probably fixed.
What a shame. At least there is a sort-of workaround: Reorganize task forces so that the minelayers stay in the original TF (which has the mining capacity), and then move the remainder of the Port Arthur Force into a new TF (which will then have a mining capacity of 0, no matter which ships you put in it).
A patch every day keeps the bugs away :D I started a new campaign with 1.005 and I think I will keep it running with 1.006 without starting a new one. Those bugs are really being stamped on fast, best developer support I have ever seen

Didn't think of that. I guess I can start a campaign now. :)

This is my first large battle, and the first time I have seen anything like this. Have toned down the display settings and restarted the game from savefile, but did not help.
Not that I am not happy. I have sunk "Chin Yen" and her three ugly 320mm-armed companions.
I've had that plenty of times on single and multiple ships although I haven't noticed it in the latest builds. It was reported early as a bug and I think they are working on it. Its not a showstopper for me and doesn't affect the gameplay so I tend to ignore it now. Was this with 1.006 running?

Well, it looks like ammunition resupply is still not in the latest patch. The Russian campaign continues to be on hold...
In my Japanese campaign there is alot of waiting. I wonder if it would be possible to have a time skip feature, where the game will skip time until a point specified by the player or until something happens.

Yes, 1.006, but the campaign was started in 1.005.
This patch really doesn't work for me.
has anyone managed to catch a Japanese merchant using an auxilliary cruiser? the battle ends when one of the ships reach edge of battle area.
Rhetor, have a look at the posts in this section. You're not alone...

Ups. Missed that.
Waiting for 1.007.

Before 1.006 you were able to catch merchants ok right?

Before 1.006 I did not have any graphic glitches at all; now have plenty of those. Did not have any CTD, save once while Ctrl+Tab to save a screenshot from clipboard - now there were a few.
I don't know about the merchants - in previous campaigns I have managed to catch a merchant, but came across one just before dawn, range 8000 meters.
I have caught loads and then again some have got away from me if they had enough distance advantage to start with. It takes a while for your ships to get up to speed so if the enemy were already flat out near the edge of a map it doesn't surprise me that they are considered to have disengaged. I frequently find I am immediately dropped back into the same chase after they have disengaged and I choose to go back to the CG screen which then allows me to catch them up and sink them.

I have chased a Japanese merchant, almost catched her. My "Angara" opened fire, scored a few hits, range dropped to 4500 meters, and then the victory report screen popped up. A little frustrating.
The next battle genereated itself almost immediately - but the Japanese ship again was 30 000 meters away, and I fugured that by the time the "Angara" would get to her, she would again reach the map edge...

Thats odd.
As soon as I get in range of a merchant ship it surrenders without any firing. (this was in 1.005, not tried 1.006)
They only surrender if they are allied ships. The Japanese merchants usually make a run for it or die fighting with their puny peashooters

My wrong again - it was a Japanese auxiliary cruiser. I can't help thinking of them as merchants

ahhhhh right
- not come across one of those yet :)

Met many of them. Managed to sink only one, caught just before dawn. "Rossia" needed only a few 203mm and 152mm shells...
The opposite happens to me - run into Japanese Auxilary Cruisers most of the time  - when a neutral merchant surrenders and I exit back to campaign screen the game goes black screen on me.:nervous:

These problems are because campaign battles end at a wierd time. There is a workaround, as I mentioned in the Ghost Ship of Doom topic. The key is to corral the merchants away from the edges. They will always move directly away from your cruiser, so direct them away from the nearest edge. I was able to corral four at once using this method with my auxiliary cruiser.
I often get battles that end 2 seconds after they start, so kind of hard to do any manouvering :p
