View Full Version : PBEM Play
Fairly basic question here. Should probably have asked this before.
If I complete half a PBEM turn I should save the file as a .SAL so I can resume at a later time and then when I have completed the first turn I should use the Play>End Turn command to create a pbl file for my opponent. Is this correct?

Me....too.
A pbem question:
Why isn't there a button or anything that would allow a player to exit out of the current pbem game after the Replay? (without having to save the game)
This would help tremendously with RL. I may want to review the playback then quit out of the sce to contemplate the situation while stirring the spaghetti sauce or do some work or go cry in my beer??

Solution.
1)Play the playback.
2)Save as Turn 1A.
3)Play playback. Exit, save as delete.
4)Repeat 3 as necessary.
5) When you want to actually play your turn, make sure you start with Turn 1A.
6) No, this is not the solution, but it is a solution.

I may suggest a button be added to the playback window to exit out of game with no saves or anything (if its possible).
I can't see why you shouldn't be able to simply exit out after playback with no moves made or investigation of units on the main battlefield screen (after exiting from the playback). I also don't see how this type of close-down would allow cheating ... at least I can't see how cheating can occur if you never get to the main play screen.

Agreed. Perhaps you should make that suggestion at the Matrix forums as none of the Matrix guys can see this one. :)
