HI

Is it just me or are there allot of bugs in this game ? I have seen a lot listed on this forum but it looks like a new bug pops up
at every battle well not every battle but !!!

a list of stuff i have seen

1 Ships half way under water, stacks, guns and railings over water but it looks like it is going to dive.
2 Gun turrets not turning just facing either to the front or back with that gun pointing out to one or the other side.
3 Ships not firing in a any battle , they target and there guns track but do not fire at any targets (close and long range).
This looks like it is a task force thing the same task will not fire in any of the battles they end up in (pacifists??)

4 Allot or some battles start with the enemy ship out of sight and they end after 1-2 minutes .
5 Game not writhing were the battle is taking place when it switches over to 3d battle.
6 Pointer turning in to a stop sign (circle with a line through) .

7 After battles task force icons an campaign map gets spilt in to 4-6 task forces with anything from 1 to 20 ships in then
and they will not take orders and there home port is set to a enemy port most of them will show up later at the real port
but i still got allot of task forces on the map

8 Task force sailing on land.
Ships disappearing and coming back at random times

9 Ai turn it self of both in the campaign ai and the 3D battle Ai ( not much of a surprise then 11 jap destroyer sail in to you battle line at 11 knot and do not manoeuvre) I found a fix for this one just delete or move the game folder and reinstall the game.

10 Yellow task force info text zapping over to the left upper corner (behind the white text) on the campain screen

My advise is not to buy this game unless you are willing to take a chance or you should wait till the first 1 or 2 patches is out
and i do believe that they will be out in a short time

I relay like this game and know that given time a small developer can turn a less then great game in to a great and bug free game
i have seen this with War in the pacific

WitP is more opf a mess now than when it began.
Bug wise the game is good. But the rising sun fanboys were the flies in the ears of the developers and really got the game screwed over.

It's you.:p

Really, is there that many bugs to seriously affect your enjoyment of this game? Perhaps the campaign needs to be fixed as Norm is doing so now, but I have really enjoyed the battles I have fought and almost all of them having taken a long time to fight. I played one yesterday with 8 versus 8 and it tooks 90 minutes for me to finish the battle.

All my ships' guns fire when they have a target in range. Some ships will fire faster and react faster than others which is understandable considering that quality of ship and crew of each ship. A new armoured cruiser should react and fire faster than an 20-year old protected cruiser that is labouring to make 15 knots to maintain its place in line .

As for turrets turning, that's just a minor detail. As long as they face the enemy ship being fired at, that's all I need.

None of the bugs are enough to turn me off this game and Norm has a good history of supporting his games.

As far as I can tell, things are running to simulate the RJW pretty well. I give orders and the ships go do them fairly well. I've even seen separated halves of divisions rejoin via very nice, wide turns that just happened to produce a crossfire that sufficed to blast the enemy flagship to flaming junk.

As far as I can tell, torpedo attacks work fine and ships will usually avoid anything that they could reasonably avoid (torpedoes and collisions, superior forces and so on). Ships generally will fire if you tell them or their division to fire.

I don't know why I am not experiencing any bugs, but I do have my video options somwhat toned down and I don't intervene all that often to give new orders and when I do, I usually pause the game.

Not too many problems my end so far (couple of CTD's and one battleship with misplaced funnels). Last night, gave the Japanese a good going over (destroyed their entire cruiser force for the loss of two of mine........... plus one heavily damaged). The ships all seem to navigate reasonably well (despite age and speed differences), respond to orders, remain with their divisions (even with all the chaos) and take on targets. Loadsa fun!

Building up to take on the campaign. :D

I have not found that many bugs that are a big issue.
Most of what I see is that most of the issues are the same for every new game, the setup of the computer that it was installed on. Drivers ,ram , the video settings.
I think this is a great game and I'll tell anyone not to be afraid to buy it.
