Hey guys,

I've decided to start working on some of these bug reports beginning Sunday evening. Main priority is the campaign game. It may take a while for me to read through the reports I have available. Once I do I will try to duplicate the problem here - which is probably more difficult than it sounds. You'd be surprised at how a minor difference in procedure can make the difference between masking and unmasking a bug. It is entirely possible that I could play another complete campaign game or two without running into a single problem. I've done it before. If it looks like that is where I am headed, I may want to make a few phone calls. So don't be surprised if you've posted here and you receive a private message asking if I can phone.

Diving into the reports...

...I was also able to get past the error and play the campaign.

Fixed: a crash when the campaign game tries to launch a battle. This was actually a problem with a third party lib file (one with a known bug - well, known to the folks who maintain the lib), and was corrected when I incorporated the spiffy, new version of the lib (that I didn't know about until a couple of hours ago) in this evening's build.

Onward...

What about disappearing of ships while playing campaign ?
This bug stops me from purchasing game right now.

On the Demo I have had this come up twice so far. What happens is I get a flat square of aqua color that covers the rear ship about half way up the stacks on the Russian ship.
so far it has only been the rear ship in the battle line, and when it comes on the screen it will not go away.

I have a duel core AMD 4800 X2 and a ATI X1900XTX video card. If anyone wants anymore detail on what I am running, or what happend let me know and I will put it together and send the data.

This does not happen every time I play, so I do not have any ideas. If anyone else has seen this let me know if you have found a fix please?

Any chance of getting the fixes that are done out as a small temporary patch sometime soon?

I have seen this once; in my game the squares appeared only around the damaged ships, so my guess it has something to do with the damage detail setting.

Exact same issue here

Well here is what I have found out on this. When I set the Res to 1280x1024 I get the square artifact on the ship. And as the poster said before it seems to happen when a shell hits or damages the ship.

When I lower the Res back down to 1024x768 then it does not happen. Well it has not happened yet. Also I have not tried any other High Res setting yet.
And I have every thing turned up to the Full or highest settings it can have in Video and game Options. And at this setting I am getting 75 FPS. It stays here as this is the scan rate of my flat screen monitor.
But it does seem to have something to do with the High Res.

Let me know if you have had the same issue.

I am running mine at 1280x1024 and haven't seen any of these square artifacts at all. My game display options are cranked right up to the top.

In fact, I have yet to see one weird thing with the graphics.

I am running a GeForce 6600GT AGP card using the 61.76 nVidia drivers and my LCD refresh rate is at 60 Mhz.

Working fine on 1280x1024 here too, refresh at 60Hz. Only graphic glitch I have seen is the common one with the hull fully underwater and only the funnels showing above.

As Jim has mentioned, the first auto-update has been posted. I still have a couple of things to look at, but as soon as that is accomplished I plan to sit down and play through a full campaign game for the first time in a while.

One thing I'd like to see is no running away in a computer generated battle. I'm playing those because I want to fight, not so I can see the enemy turn and run away. I can understand opponents running away in a campaign game, where it means something, but having them run away in a quick "battle" is pretty annoying.

Heh, this puts the lie to the guy who said the AI was overly aggressive :)

Anyway, you can always choose to play both sides by leaving both players as "local human". Then you can be as suicidal with 1 side as you like.

True enough, but I'd prefer not to know what the other side is doing. :) It's kind of annoying when I'm putting my Russians up to top speed and to see the japanese fleet just pulling away.
