View Full Version : How To Serve Spike! Pos=keep Out!!
On Palantir's request, eveyone who just started a battle with Ol Spice start listing your battle memoirs with a few choice photos here!;)
He has aquired the other two first with a road running to them and on the reverse side of the slope ...... his side!!!!:freak: Two m10's on the retreat after slugging it out with my Jagpanther. Otherwise he may have this but not without a fight.
Hear is the count: I am down:cry: 5 Ht and 1 ht Flamethrower, POS is down 1 Sherman and 1 Wolverine:clap: :joy: :bounce: He has two flags and I will have one in a few minutes:horse: :hurray: :broccoli: :redapple: :coolban:  :nofear:
Medium map in 20+ moves, this will happen fast. Plenty of roads for POS to make one of his patented Rush Hour LA Freeway tank formation attacks on the flags. Hopefully my surprises penetrate his plans.:devious:
There's a large hill on the north edge but I can be out of sight prior to his arrival there or ambush him if he does. Four Flags, 3 small, 1 large.
Might of taken out another M10, he is on the run on the one flag.
Come on 205, show us a pic:angry:
Not a computer geek. Talk me though it and I will do it.:smoke:
just lost the JagPanther and have the one flag, things will go down hill from here on in.:smoke:
Get your CM shot all lined up then press the "PrtScn" button. Go to Microsoft Photo Editor and click "Edit" and select "Paste as New Image". Now save it as a .jpg file. At the save screen select ">>More" and then set the Quality Factor slider to 50%. This will ensure it's not too big of a file. Save it to a place you can find easily.
Type up your message and then press "Manage Attachments" at the bottom of the SZO page. Browse to your saved picture and upload.
Sounds worse than it is. Now let's see some action photos!!
You got something stuck up where ,we don't want to know.:bite:
just lost the JagPanther and have the one flag, things will go down hill from here on in.:smoke:How did you lose a JP? The only thing that should touch one frontally may be a 17lber.

It was aside shot from a M10:cry:
It was aside shot from a M10:cry:How careless of you! :surprise: Too bad - it hurts to lose one of those. :dead:
not bad against 4 m10's and 7 shermans I think.:OHNO:
And he could have read the sticky here- "How to attach a pict to your post!" :p
Sounds like POS is doing his best against a horde of SZO attackers swarming over, in and around his command post!
I have a feeling though that he's a quick learner- better watch out!
I think Ol Spice discovered his feminine side in our battle. Took him till turn 7/20 for him to fire a round from a tank! He's playing I SPY and slinking around a lot. I'm sure he'll find himself and all hell will break loose sooner or later. I'll post a pic when it does.....;)
Not his normal 'mega' cluster of tanks, Ol Spice has finally revealed 3 of his T-34's. :surprise:
POS thought it was a Marder in the trees but it was actually a Nashorn. Turn 10 saw a simultaneous exchange of fire and simultaneous loses of the Nashorn and his T34/85. Then POS flanked 2 of my Marders, one of which got a shot off but BOTH went down in flames.
He is down 2 T-34/85's and I am down 1 Nashorn and 2 Marders.

One way to counter POS armor is the Shrek:

I got two of his tanks in this late portion of our game

But he also got another of my Wespes
It's always nice when you move a flame thrower into position, although they don't usually last long:

Flamer was killed by a grenade from another squad shortly after this picture was taken. This target squad was last seen running and screaming into the woods. POS has our game wrapped up. Bring more shreks and tanks vice AT vehicles is my advice.

Just finished my game with POS. It ended in Major Victory for me and was a rather quick game (I don't think POS has many that go past 20 with his game style!) and here is a few highlights.
We were in south Russia with sparse trees and small hills. I had an advantageous route for armor and infantry to one flag (CM1 shows the attack route to the flag), the other flag I could easily get infantry to around 150 meters away, but after that it was hard. Armor was even more difficult to get up there. As a result, I chose to send 1 of three platoons of infantry and 1 of 2 platoons of T-34s toward the accessible flag while I held back the other T-34 platoon and a platoon of KV-1s. I sent my remaining infantry up to the last covered and concealed position in front of the flag, an assault position if you will. I was able to reach and establish myself at the accessible flag.
As soon as my T-34s came up, I was engaged by a Marder. It was dispatched by the platoon but I moved my other T-34 platoon up to hull down positions in the center back where they'd been in hide positions and on the following round this platoon was engaged by 4 more Marders in a long distance shootout! Still by the end of the engagement with them, I'd killed two more, firepower killed a third and chased off the last one (CM2 shows this engagement midway through, the left most Marder is the 1st Marder killed, the right most is the firepower kill. The back cross is the Marder that lives to fight another day, having withdrawn already. To the left, you can see a wheat field fire where my T-34s are and to the right the position I hold.). In the meantime, I knew from sound contacts he was moving armor up on my direct front. I came over the hill with the platoon on the accessible flag that I was hull down on to try a shoot and scoot but overestimated the distance needed for a shot and became decisively engaged with 4 PZIVs! In the ensuing engagement, we traded two tanks each before my remaining tank, the PL pulled back (CM3 shows the engagement with one of my tanks bailing out, the 2nd of his tanks hit (both tanks on the flank were killed. It's a classic POS formation, good target!). He moved across my front and despite knowing better, I sent it over for a look and see when it was dispatched by the remaining Marder in a masterful shot as it moved forward from over 800 meters away! I had begun moving my KV-1s up from a hide position in the back and they arrived just as POS had begun severely harrassing my platoon of infantry. Popping up on the same hill that the T-34s had been on, they engaged and destroyed the two remaining PZIVs at the cost of one KV-1 in a hot exchange (CM4 shows the my KV-1 getting killed as it kills another PZIV. He was avenged shortly afterwards by the remaining KV-1. You can also see my remaining platoon of T-34's moving up, keeping POS attention on that. At the time, he thought I had only those tanks left, not knowing of KV-1s till they popped over the hill). POS surrendered shortly afterwards as with only one Marder remaining with no AP ammo, he had little ability to resist. It was a good game.

I'm gald to see you handled him as easily as you're handling me
After a few emails with Spike inquiring about the status of our game, I have found out that he has left SZO. Apparently, he was offended by some of the posts regarding his play style.
There is a chance he might return. Until I find out for certain I won't reveal anything about the game here incase he wants to come back and play it out.

He said he will never come back here again. WE had a couple of games going but he did nothave anything good to say about the guys here.... a bit whiney to say the least. i got alittle upset with him and told him to stop being childist, we continued to play but he has his mind set.
Maybe he will change his mind in the future..... he can be a good sort if he wishes.;) :smoke:
He was bashed pretty good by a number of members. He may need thicker skin, like me. Over all I never had a problem with him.

It is too bad that Spike left. His arrogance was inappropriate for his skill level (or any skill level), but his posts were excellent.
Net-net this is a loss for SZO.

Spike just emailed me stating he will never ever come back to SZO after all. Thus, our game is aborted. If I have the energy I will post some material regarding our game. It was fun. I did some things differently and by browsing around cherry picking my troops I found a very interesting German infantry BN. I think my ole' buddy Deathdealer would love it :devious:
So. Thats that.
:(
It is a loss.
He contributed alot of useful posts and was very entertaining.
4 years or so into the game and he was the only one to post those comparison screenshots.
The problem was he did want to create a persona (think WWF) and like most English had a way of rubbing North Americans the wrong way. It's just their particular brand of being.
His style of play, well I've no idea why peeps got all riled about it. He wasn't shy about broadcasting it. It certainly lends itself to 20+ ME in those particular terrain settings. But everyone has a chance to accept or not.
And whether it's gamey - who knows, we all have different views on that. It's certainly allowed by the game. Look at it this way, what if everything different or new was banned. Does that mean they should have fought WWII the same way as WWI or that the American Revolutionaries use of skirmishers and picketers, instead of Napoleanoic lines was gamey ?
His over-confidence certainly had a lot of peeps wanting to bring him down. But heck, if you want celebrity status, you gotta have thick skin.
Perhaps also he ultimately tangled with some boy's bigger than himself.
Will he have more lives than the Undertaker ?
I will give Spike another week before I post anything about the game. Hopefully he will change his mind and come back to play with us :).
I made the mistake of taking his antics too serious and instead of lecturing and frowning at his chosen style of CM I should have laughed it off and kept the snorts to myself.
Though I reiterated that I only differed with him in CM philosophy and meant nothing personal by my comments, I no doubt contributed to his distress. This was poorly done on my part. :o
He was an odd bird but will be missed.
Now, I will have to look elsewhere for subjects of mockery. 205 should serve well in that regard. Say, 205, is your strategy to present me with enough kills that I run out of AP? You seem to have enought AFVs to do just that :(
:scream: :nofear: :clown:  :p

The game is what it is. If it's to hot in the kitchen then you know what to do. :upset:  :upset:  :upset:

While I am not sure we have many arrogant players, we certainly have some players who lack courage.

One mans courage could be another mans arrogance. Its all in who you are and how you look at it.
