Hi all,

while I took a first glimpse at the scen Power Sweep running under H3 ANW and the Players DB I was surprised that my subs cannot dive below "Intermed" - 100m. They cannot go deep or vdery deep. Or can they?

Why so?The sea is more than 700 m deep and both subs can go easily 300m and below.

Is that an H3 ANW problem?

I've tried that scenario on many occasions and I haven't had any problem getting the subs to dive to lower depths.

Just start the game and order them to go deeper. I think that if you click on the Intermediate Depth radio button, the subs will show the deepest depth possible. They only start at -100m depth. Let me know if you have any other problems.

Welcome [back] aboard, shipmate!

Ah, yes - indeed: 100 m is only the starting depth. I can go deeper. Ok. I think in older H3 versions there were two more radio buttons - deep and vdeep - or not? But thats not important.

IŽll now play the scen and look at the db behind.

Yes, I think I am back in Harpoon. And IŽll restart tournament chess in September

Regards
Ralf

The Deep and VDeep buttons also exist in ANW. However, the depth ranges have changed. For example, Deep Depth in ANW starts at -510m but Deep Depth in H3.6.3 begins at -190m.

However, the game engine has changed so that only the deepest depth possibel for that unit is shown to you. If you are only shown the Intermediate Depth radio button, it is because your sub is incapable of diving to Deep or VDeep depth in ANW.

I see. The Swiftsure manages 500m, the other sub 300. If "deep" starts at 510m, everything is clear.

Thanks, Herman
