Edited...okay - the poll is up. Participation in the forums seems kind of low - though a number of players are quite active. I'm trying to gauge how effective (or ineffective) this format is - so any feedback is welcome. It could be that many players are reading the notes and figuring out play independently. In the absence of complaints, I'd normally guess everything's working okay...but want to make sure.

Seriously, this is the best and most convincing format I have seen for getting new players under way, thanks to the enormous efforts by some of the veterans - my hat's off to them! It's like personal coaching on a grand scale, with the added benefit of being able to learn from others' experiences as well. I just wish I had the time to really digest all the information provided. :surprise:

(And I *am* speaking from experience, having been active for over five years in several PBEM wargaming clubs.)

I agree with Heldenkaiser, great job. I'd also like to personely thank General Staff for his advice, support and of course patience!

bump... The new players are rather polite to oneanother, no taunting, and no special requests either, not even for a banana dance! I fear we might have fostered a bunch of monsters that will displace the 'vets' on the ladder soon...

I've greatly appreciated all the help and pointers...and especially the patience shown by all of the veterans. You have very effectively drawn me into the game, wanting to get better and better.

Great job.

I voted other please explain and here it it is... I have played TOAW for a little while now but got away from the game for about a year or so, I viewed this as a way of getting my legs back under me with the Matrix Edition. No fault to my opponent but the turn have been slower than I would have liked and I wanted to exchange turns at least twice week, so I am little disappointed because I really wanted to use this opportunity to get going again and have more experienced players critique my game. Right now I am at a standstill.
