View Full Version : Ufo!!!
Guys...belive me or not...but....i'm playing the first scenario....i just sunked 2 russian's cruisers and closing to the 3rd...and.....a flying object....classified as uck_ufo1 appeared in the screen....flying at about 400 mts from sea level...and going away.....
What is this?
A UFO?
shells from russian cruiser ;)
It was not a shell..cause was big as half ship.....and flying parallel to the sea level.
And it was indentified with a label in the screen....as uck_ufo1....
Yes, I saw it twice playing the Ulsan battle. I thought it was something wrong with the ship textures ie. it looked like the grey shadow of a hull flying through the sky. I guess if it is a UFO they thought that would be funny to add:rolleyes: , actually they way it is done it looks like an error in the game and just breaks your concentration and detracts from the gameplay. If you are going to add an Easter Egg to the game Norm please make it a useful one!
I stated that was a UFO cause the interface "marked" it as uck_ufo1....
And it wasn't impossible that was the ship texture cause no ship move near it.
So i think was something put on...intentionally....but i don't know for what.
Some Russian-Jap war history expert could be tell us if there are reported some strange encounter by ship's crews in the period....
It could be a joke. The Second Pacific Squadron reported seing "Japanese balloons" at night while passing through the North Sea.

Oh come on now! It's obviously staged or a forgery just like every other photo of a UFO.
If you do capture it, research the blaster launcher first. They are the bomb. :)
** wishes someone would update X-Com **

This reminds me of another Jules Verne story called Master of the World - I think. Character named Robur who had a aerial warship that made the navies of the world obsolete - sorta like Captain Nemo of the Air.
Would be too cool if this was an Easter Egg. Right time period too! Toss in the Nautilus too while you're at it! *hint*hint* :D
Remember all of the technology you are using came from UFO's ! (No wonder the aliens crashed :D ).

Looks like Venus to me.
I had the game on for about 30 minutes and saw the same thing. It passed over the Nipponese fleet on the horizon at about mach 4. Either Norm is having some fun or something odd is happening.
But doesn't everyone get bored of the same old UFO included somewhere in just about every game these days ? I have lost count of the games and simulators I have played over the years now which have included something vaguely saucer shaped flapping about in the sky, it seems to have become an industry standard these days. It just isn't funny any more!
It seems to appear on just about every historical battle as it just made a flyby during Tsushima. Here's a closeup of the varmint, pity there are no AA guns on those ships :D - click the thumbnail to enlarge

Crap, you beat me by 15 minutes...
:surprise:  Oh great, now all we need is an aircraft carrier sailing past in the campaign and that should really destroy any historical integrity this game was aiming for
