View Full Version : Installation on a laptop
OK so I have it loaded on my desktop. If I want to install a copy to my laptop how do I do this?
Please don't tell me I have to buy a copy for each machine? I know there was talk of this......
Your licence should be good for at least 2 of your own Personal machines no?
Seems only fair.

Storm eagle store a license is good for a single (one) machine.
I guess the internet is somehow involved in licensing the game and it you have to unlicense the game if you ever want to transfer the game to another system.

There's a license transfer utility that lets you move the license from one machine to another. It's listed in the start menu options where you launch the game from.

That depends upon what you want to do with the game. It can only be played on one machine at a time, but you can use the license transfer utility on your game start menu item to transfer the authorization from one machine to another. This can be done as often as you want, and only takes a few seconds. Both machines will need some form of common removable storage (floppy, flash drive, etc.) See page 73 of the Players' Guide pdf doc (also available from the start menu).
Would an SD flash memory card work?

The utility should work with anything that can be recognized by use of a drive letter.
Does the 2nd machine need to be connected to the internet?

No. It's not a bad idea, if you want to stay current with updates. But an internet connection is not required for the transfer process, or for normal play.
Excellent. Leaving on a short trip later today and I would love to take the game along, but I won't have access to the internet again before I get home.
Guess I'm buying another copy then..........
