View Full Version : Calling all games
Hooded One, Neilm85UK, 205, and TacCovert4 my Alienware :alien: is waiting to digest your next digital submittal of death. The Hooded One has me slogging my troops through the rain over a multitude of miles and we'll be lucky to make contact before time expires :clown: . Neilm85UK is running out of options if I don't yield my lead :ar15: , 205 needs to get his game upgraded to v1.03 :bored: so I can kill him in round 3 :hurt: . BRO Sapper is on his last chance too but he's still got some fight left in him:bigfire: . TacCovert4 is reconning the 2100 x 2100 map so he can purchase units wisely for our first battle:devious: .
Let's go guys, I'll check back after dinner :supper:

LOL. I think 90210 is ready to go, since we are playing Hafid Ridge and I am upgraded to 1.03. However, he may be blinded by all the dust in that one or traumatized by the alarming rate he is producing burning hulks :devious:
I sent him a CMBB game file and he answered back he didn't have the correct version. What say you 205??????????????????
your all a bunch of whinning babies. Taktik you have not seen the lease of what will happen. Bertram i have sent you a mother of all battles in CMAK and if you whimp out I will post you as a looser for life. CMBB is not my style yet....... so cry me a river.:smoke:
 How did you know I was drinking?
Ok, I'll play ya another CMAK-YOU. You must have sent the email with defective Canadian electrons cause it still isn't here. Just remember, I'm not giving you a head start this time. Prepare to be crushed.:devious:
:blab: :blab: :blab: :blab: and:blab: :blab: :blab: :blab:
Even 205 staggered :drink: to his machine and fired back an answer. Now if he only knew how to attach files we'd be "on the road again".
Let's get with it men. :toast:
Oooppps I think I forgot, now it's on it's way. Baby:p :smoke:
Ah, Canadian Vapor Lock

I'm still here matey. I'm gonna toast your panzers and then your infantry. Full set of turns out tonight. We're having a proper summer here with sunshine and everything. Temperatures in the 80's. This only happens every hundred years so I have to take advantage. Prepare to enter pixelated hell :surprise:

Is this a euphemism for 'I'm getting my arse kicked bad and daren't look at the next turn'? :p :smoke: :D

Hey, now! Don't blame me if 90210 is used to QB generated maps where he can deploy in the nice, long deep setup zones and not even have to budge while still being able to shoot into the opponent's setup zone. ;)
Explain to the canucksie the concept of "maneuver". He must be getting lazy is all :p

Sending you the file in a couple of hours.
BTW: Recon the map prior to a ME? Where's the fun in that. :devious:
BTW: Recon the map prior to a ME? Where's the fun in that.
The fun lies in knowing that my opponent and I have to actually move to contact, maneuver across terrain, and find advantageous BPs while adjusting on the fly to enemy movements. With QB ME generated maps you often barely have to budge to fire at the enemy. They all have the same long, symmetrical setup zones that extend deep into the map. After playing a few score of these it gets real redundant and any “recon” is beside the point – everything is already so predictable seeing the map in advance is inconsequential at this point.
An imported map also allows you to manage the number of VLs as well as their placement. In an ME, perhaps lots of big VLs are not needed or realistic to the mission. Perhaps engaging and destroying the enemy force that is attempting to move into the area of operations should determine victory. In this case, sprinkle small VLs about to eliminate the necessity of flags in general. You can’t do this with a QB map.
I do see your point, though, Tac. There is room for abuse using an imported map. It can be played on solo while the actual game is going and you get to see the map before hand, so the purchase part of a QB is only further emphasized. However, cherry picking your forces is far-fetched to begin with so I see no additional unrealism there.
Anyway, after playing countless MEs in BO where perfectly hidden guns were already in perfect position to fire into my setup zone, I was overwhelmingly delighted with the imported map option when BB came out. These types of folk had to MOVE to find a good firing position. Imagine THAT!
There are some great maps out there, too, so I take advantage of their maker’s hard work.
By far, most of my games have been the mystery version. TC4 wanted a big map so I hunted around the Proving Ground (etc) and found what I thought was an interesting location. I didn't study it in detail and haven't planned my avenues of approach just yet. I purchased my units with an idea that I will firm up when I place my units.
IMO most commanders ordering 3000 pts of equipment into a battle usually know the lay of the land before hand.
Quit whinning :blab: :blab: The map is not right  the world is not flat:crosseye: oh i stubbed my toe on the way to the computer blame 2054172:p  :smoke:
