Is there any sense in doing that? Limited attacks from a defensive position just to inflict casualties, but without taking ground? Given that I usually lose more than the other guy? :surprise:

Casualties count towards victory. It's scenario-dependent but in this one look for targets of opportunity, then if you find them hit with LA/ML attacks and all the arty you can muster in direct support (subject to them being availalbe for that particular round of course). I think I had an example in my turn 2 (2WIN-GSvsElmer- 2PreR3) against Elmer.

That's good advice.

That seems to be *the* key concept that I must finally learn to apply. :shy:

Thanks! :)

Oh, question - will arty firing directly lose its dug-in status and become mobile? Because that's what makes me hesitate to use it in that role. Thanks! :)

No it should stay dug in.

Yes, it will if it was dug in previously. Keep on TR if you need to use indirectly or fire directly with MPs remaining and consistent with amount of turn expended (e.g. 7/14 MPs if you're down to 50% of turn left). Once you;re done with direct fire support then dig in so it will support indirectly any further attacks and defensively in your opponent's turn.

Hope this helps.
