Another Feature or a Bug?

Game starts with Swedish forces in position.

Russians declare war on Finland about turn 5 but get nowhere near Helsinki,
turn 11, all Swedish forces are withdrawn! There was no news message to indicate the withdrawal.

Will they reappear if they are trggered by soviets getting within 4 hexes of Helsinki?

Never heard of this one before: suspect it's a TOAW III conversion bug, although it's odd that no one else has reported it.

Once I get my copy I'll take a look, along with a few other things mentioned in earlier threads.

I can't believe you are still waiting for a copy of the game - I would have thought all scenario designers of scenarios featured in TOAW III would have got a copy of the game before release to check for bugs like this.

I think the problem is related to Russia's declaration of war on Finland, as I have replicated the same thing with a later declaration of war by the soviets.

The conversion must somehow have created a link between the 'USSR DoWs Finland' and the Allies occupying Stockholm, which causes Swedish withdrawal. Be fascinating to see how. In due course.

What exactly did you do to replicate the situation. I'd like to know so I can take a look.

In a PBEM game the Soviets declared war around turn 6 and the swedes withdrew on turn 11 or 12. In a hotseat game The russian declared about turn 40 something and the swedes withdrew bout 5 or 6 turns later.
