Well, today i have recieved my turn, I am attaching it so I can get your advice before doing something that may lead my armies into destruction :-)

A few thoughts, again incremental and you might want to look at my game versus Elmer for similarities, especially on the CW front.

Utah. North I'd defend Quineville-Montebourg and in between the 2 in the hills. I'd try and surround and destroy the unit in 27,17 and defend in the hills and across to the bocage. The Merderet line is history I think- just blow what you can and along the Douve (not the bridges at St Saveur) though and the bridges at Carentan and on the Taute River. If you can retake the bridge at Carentan with Direct Arty Support and blow it.

Omaha and the Carentan/Isigny area. Take a look at my game versus Elmer for ideas here. The enemy dispositions here are similar. Bayeux too. Further east defend the ridge lines on hills. Put some decent AT (Tanks or 88s) in front of his armour which is veering to the left of Caen. This gives you a chance to hit the stack in 81,35 with a piece of armor and some Direct Arty and hopefully drive down to Benouville. You may get there but adjacent will hike his MP costs to cross the bridge for a turn. Study the Elmer game to see how you too could maybe get 7 rounds in a turn.

If you can't retake Pegasus I'd look to abandon the east bank and make a stand/form a line in the woods NE of Caen. And use the Dives River as a line east with bridges blown to contain.

Combined arms stacks, all units broken down if in the front line except HQ and Arty or for a specific need/exception. You need a defence in depth and therefore units to cover a fairly wide front.

Hope this helps.

Not having had the chance to look at your turn: any of my first few turns in this game looked like complete deaster--it's turn seven now, and I am still alive and still holding a "victory". :smoke:

So take heart, I am sure the veterans will come up with some really good advice for you. Meanwhile, bring up reinforcements (there will be plenty in the next turns, and some fine elite troops at that, with really impressive equipment :halo: ) restore your lines, blow bridges, occupy chokepoints and DIG.

Good luck, and have fun. :)

Well I have just received the second turn wich seems to me a complete disaster :-( is this really so or is there any hope?
Looks bad. I'd forget NE of Caen- form a line east and contain recce units. I've mentioned these elsewhere and for Allies they are one of their best tools in the box.

I'd pull back to North Caen and defend north of Carpiquet on the ridge.

Bayeux is pretty much gone and I'd defend in the woods and hills south. Omaha south of the Aure.

Utah- Carentan is gone and I'd defend bocage inch by inch.

But I don't see much evidence of Combined Arms here, nor arty dug in or sited for best effect, some units are not broken down (you need to do this or you will eventually have nothing to work with), and without these factors working in your side you don't have much of a chance.

Maybe look at other games and comments for clues.

Hope this helps.
