Is a Tanks reload time dependant on only it's experience level or does the Tank type play a role too?
I have never noticed any time differences but that does not mean they arn't there.

Both. Experience is always a factor and counts for alot. Type is important as well. For example, cramped turrets {Mainly Russians, but a few others} and one & two man turrets {A lot of early war tanks are in this catagory} can severely reduce loading times. Also if you take into account Self Propelled Guns, Some models like the big German versions had lots of room, while the tiny Hetzer had none to speak of. Russian SP's were cramped as well.
There is a very small dependency on crew quality.
Otherwise is is by caliber and whether the tank has the "slow reload" characteristic in the unit info.

Does CM also factor in the munition type as well? IIRC the JagdTiger's 125mm cannon was, like the Maus's munition, was split into 2 pieces which had to be assembled then loaded onto the gun. Same was the case with the IS-2's I believe. these would also majorly hinder firing rate though I don't know if CM models these as well.

See stunning "The Going Rate" article in the tac talk section

The 125mm gun has a slow reload in CM anyway.
The IS-2 is coded as "slow ROF".
They seemed to have forgotten this for the ISU-122 which has the same gun (the SU-122 has fast ROF in reality so it's fine).
On the Axis side anything with the sIG 150mm is affected, the Hetzer and the Sturmtiger.

The slow reload time you refered to is because of such factors as cramped crew spaces, turrets, one & two man turrets ect...that i mentioned, plus the others that you did as well. I assumed he knew about the slow reload time notation in the unit description tab. And crew quality does make a big difference.

[grognard mode] Ahem....that should be 128mm :halo: [/grognard mode]

Good to have grognards around! :D

Nah, actually I was just wondering if using the 'some assembly required' type ammo was factored in along with the cramped crew spaces with the slow reload vehicle attribute.
IRT Palantir
For some reason I found myself daydreaming of a Jagdtiger with a long barelled 128mm cannon firing 128mm high velocity tungsten rounds after reading your post.
mmmmm....high velocity 128mm tungsten rounds.....mmmmmmmm

Put some good support around him and fire away! :ogre:

If that actually existed and had the same accurate long range optics as the jagdpanther that would be one incredibly deadly mother of a weapon wouldn't it. All you'd need is a veteran or elite crew and a map with some hills with good overall view of enemy positions/line of advance. Especially if it were an axis defensive map with the enemy armour all nicely visible and moving.
I'm guessing something like that would probably be able to start tank plinking from 4 to 5km away under the afformentioned conditions.
