Hey all,
I'm looking for playtesters for 3 games.
I've listed the "Gentext" from all three below. If any interest you let me know.
I'm looking for some feed back on everything- map design, unit "balance," "background info" and most importantly in my opinion- playability.
Title: Cache Hunt
Type: TCP/IP Meeting Engagement
Date: Early March 1945
Location: Hungarian-Austrian border
Region: South
Weather: Cool, dry
Terrain: Village
Wind: Windy
Turns: 30+
Size: small
Points: 200 (12 total units)
Designer: Kerry aka “Palantir”
(Concept by “Bogdan”)
Cache Hunt!
The Russian juggernaut continues to roll forward through the Balkans in March of 1945 and citizens flee in fear as German forces fight violent delaying actions in their towns. Some towns along the Hungarian-Austrian border are entirely evacuated as this path of death and destruction pounds its way towards them, one such town is “Nesledier.”
Over-flights by both Air-forces show that the town is now unoccupied as German forces have been withdrawn under light Russian air-strikes to form a defensive line further to the west. Russian forces have not yet been allocated to occupy the now burning town as it is no longer of military value.
However, it still has a value of another kind. Reports of mislaid priceless “assets” hidden in the town have filtered back to Sector Headquarters. The recovery of those “items” reportedly cached in four locations in town has been deemed a top priority by the High Command. Snipers and their close support will be sent in to find & recover them.
{Cache Hunt involves honesty between players - designed for TCP/IP play.}
Title: Escape Route
Type: Allied Probe: Semi-Historical
Date: Early March 1945
Location: NW Hungary
Region: South
Weather: Cool, dry
Terrain: Rural
Wind: Breeze
Turns: 30+
Size: Large
Points: 4000
Designer: Kerry aka “Palantir”
Background:
In early ’45 the Soviet Winter Offensive in Hungary, “Operation Budapest,” succeeded in taking the city. As the Soviets consolidated their forces Hitler launched “Operation Spring Awakening” in early March; it failed to retake the city or establish a hoped for defensive line back on the Danube River.
Victorious in conquest but also weary Red Army reconnaissance units continue probing forward nearly unopposed throughout the country. However some loyal Hungarian formations in the northwest still hold on and fight valiantly alongside their Axis partner against the formidable Russian advance.
With the German counter-offensive stopped and its forces being driven back Soviet units are once again advancing and escape routes northward into Germany are being cut daily. It’s time for high ranking Germans and crucial material to leave the Balkans.
Recently captured prisoners indicate a clash in the forested foothills of northwest Hungary between the 6th Hungarian Division and the 36th Guards Rifle Division is imminent.
Title: Clash near Pavlograd
Type: Meeting Engagement: Semi-Historical
Date: Early March 1945
Location: 15 miles from Pavlograd. (100 miles south of Kharkov)
Region: South
Weather: Cool, dry
Terrain: Rural
Wind: Breeze
Turns: 30+
Size: Large
Points: 3800
Designer: Kerry aka “Palantir”
Background:
Attacks followed by counter-attacks have raged across the steppes & woods between forces of the German 4th Panzer Army and the Soviets 1st Guards Army. The clashes are taking place south and west of the key industrial city of Kharkov as both sides struggle for its control. In this whirlwind of destruction and death some areas have been overlooked and left unoccupied.
An air-force reconnaissance pilot has spotted one such place; a valuable rail, road and bridge junction 15 miles east of Pavlograd. It must be quickly secured with whatever forces are on hand before enemy units arrive in force.
