Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum, and I have never played a PBEM match, but I've played TOAW since version 1 came out so long ago.

I'm fascinated with the French Indochina war, which I research in my free time and I have obtained every scenario involving it I could find. Unfortunately, when I made the switch from TOAW:I to COW, I found that many of these scenarios were no longer compatible. Is there something I could do to make them playable by COW?

Other than that, I look forward to playing a few matches and hopefully contributing something to your site.

Welcome aboard, Balthazar! I'm sure you'll have some great games once you step into the PBEM world.

Any scenario that was 'made' with the latest version of the patch installed is compatible with CoW. If you have TOAW I scenarios that will not load on CoW, you need to install your TOAW I, patch it up to the most recent version, then load the scenario in the editor, and save it. Now it should run under CoW.

If you have any problems with this, come back and let us know; we'll help you through it!

Thank you for the suggestion, the problem is that TOAW:I seems to no longer be compatible with windows XP.. I tried running compatibility modes to get it to work, but had no luck. Everytime I run the .exe or pop in the CD, I get an error message that it is "no longer supported on this version of Windows NT." Might you know how to get around that?

Try running the game under VDMSound. Get it here (http://ntvdm.cjb.net/).

Otherwise, Balthazar, if you still have problems, you can send me the scenarios. I still have TOAW 1 on my computer. I can convert them to COW and then send you them.

I'm not very interested in Indochina but if you decide to play a WW2 scenario, give me a call.
