Now that people are doing the actual scenario building, it's a good time to talk about what the mission briefings for the campaign should be like. Should they be in a standardized format? Should they be in the form of a first-person narrative, a written order from high command, or what?

I'm leaning more toward the first-person narrative, because if you write it well enough it could be an interesting campaign. IMO we should focus on good briefings at least as much as good scenario design- a lot of them have very short, one- or two-paragraph orders that don't really make you feel involved in the campaign. But that's just me, probably has something to do with how I'm more used to writing briefings than realistic scenarios.

Hi Mustang,

For me it is too early to start thinking about text descriptions!

Text description is the last in my priorities (at the moment) but I think that it may be better if this task could be assigned to one or two talented persons.

Anyway a mix of 1st person text with the addition of a historical background section and finally a small section with scenario hints may work well.
