This will be the running commentary of the 1st Round of the Yogi V. Rangers series.

TacCovert4 will be playing as the indomitable, though bumbling, Yogi Bear, with the Rangers played by none other than RangerBooBoo.

This battle takes place in North Africa during March of 1943, as the Rangers and Yogi run into each other in a clash of combined arms for a village.

RBB,

I'd recommend that for style points, you stay out of this thread once I get the commentary of the battle going. I'll try to keep ScreenShots to observable events regardless, but It'd be bad form if my opponent could tell which 88 just creamed his prized Priest.

Oberlieutenant Heintz looked with approval over his dispositions for the coming fight. His Panzerkampfenwagen crews had done an excellent job of rolling their tanks over the rocks on the left flank by using boards and chains. Now fully a third of his mobility was in near impossible jump off points. His own PzIV was on the right flank, providing protection for his IICs that would be manuevering in the centre to support his infantry attack on the crossroads. The terrain was very open, with only a small spot of dead ground in the center. That was where he had told Lieutenant Karlson to hold his infantry and IICs whilst the heavier tanks cleared the field of Allied armor. Although he was expecting a heavy fight on the armored front, he knew he had at least 2 aces in his hand. The allied medium tanks would be fighting against two IVs and 2 of the brand new Tigers. With the long range 88 and superior armored protection, his 2 Tigers would be like wolves in a sheep herd on this field. The allies only chance would be artillery or an airstrike disabling them, as at 750 yards, the estimated engagement range for the opening skirmish, no tank in the allied arsenal could penetrate the Tiger's frontal armor. With those two covering the center, the IVs on the flanks could shoot and scoot, using their higher mobility to protect themselves from Allied shells.
