View Full Version : screws
I see these cool looking "screw" in the screenshots of some people and also in the graphics folder but they don't show up on my interface when the game is running. Is there something I'm not doing?
LoL...maybe yours are "loose"? j/k
What about pointing us to a screenshot to show us what you are referring to?

Well you wouldn't be the first to question the state of my screws but I was referring to another variety this time  Here a link to JMAS post, http://img210.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen022xk.jpg he has these cool looking tanks on the screen but it don't show up on mine
I know what he means. The stars and the rifles beneath the buttons.
@Okimaw: You can't see them due to your monitor resolution in conjunction with h the big task bar. I am running with 1024*768 pixels and can't see them with my "normal" task bar. But when i hide the taskbar so that COW uses the full resolution they appear.
Okay..how to hide the taskbar:
Move the cursor to the top of the task bar until the arrows appear, press left and hold, move down. Voila! Disappeared.
How to get it back. Hold the cursor over the bottom of your display until the arrows appear, press left and hold, move up.
Okay thanks, tried it but it still wasn't wide enough to show the tanks. I think I'm running about the same resolution on the monitor as your are, Oh well it's just a bells and whistles aspect, it looks great all around
Ahhh...yes, the bolted panel. That is dynamically resized depending on you screen resolution, or window size. As Telumar mentioned, you need at least an XXX x 768 window size to see it. TOAW III will utilize this panel and the circlet of stars for tracking % of turn used, and attacks planned, information.
Okimaw, maybe the title bar of your window is too high/wide. You can adjust it in right click on desktop->properties->display (in win98, hope also in win2000). The mine has a size of 18.

The title bar of my window is too high and wide but I don't have the display option as yours does. the monitor is on the same 1024 x 768 as yours but it still won't show the tanks graphic when I hide the task bar, the panel shows with the screws but the actual graphic wont show

If you right click on the menu bar, you can set the menu bar to 'auto-hide.' You can also make the game screen slightly larger than the physical screen if you're careful about it.
Hey guys I got my pretty starry tank thingy happening!! :D
