I’d like to get an opponent for two scenarios:
The first is Europe Aflame, by Mark Stevens. I’ll play either side in this scenario, and would like someone who can do a few turns a week, as I should be able to flip my turn as soon as it is in my inbox.
The second is West Front ’44, by Trey Marshall. For this scenario, I’d like to try my hand at the Allied side. Hopefully there is someone who likes to try to desperately hold on against superior numbers. :) Again, I’d like someone who can do a few turns a week.
Lastly, while I’ve had the Operational Art of War for a couple years now, I’ve only played it against the PO and my girlfriend, who is a decidedly weak player, though still better than the PO, so if someone feels like a cake walk in EA, or wants a good chance to be victorious in West Front ’44, I’m available.

I was wondering, as I didn't find anything about it here, and couldn't find it to download here. Unfortunate, as I really did like the concept of having the Western front linked with the Italian Front.

I have had an interest in the Italian Front for a while, mainly since I read the book "The D-Day Dodgers" by Daniel G. Dancocks. I was hoping to see if a breakthrough in Italy, not really attained in history, could have put more pressure on the Germans in France and, consequently, forced the Germans to commit more reserves to the 'Soft Underbelly of Europe' and therefore made the breakout from the Normandy beach-head, or whichever area was chosen, that much easier, bringing the war to an end sooner. <- Now there's a whopper of a sentence. :)

If you're that interested - I have printed out all the OOB's from WF44 - about
700 pages worth - be more than happy to send them your way :halo:

Actually, that would be nice to have. veersw at gmail dot com

When you say the scenario is too crowded. Are you refering to the 15km/hex being too many km/hex? If so, what km/hex do you think it should be?

WF44 is odd. As much as I'd like to like the scenario, there are things I can't get over. One is the OOB structure. I think Foggy may be referring to the fact that the biggest battles of the west front get really small at 15k/h.

That said, I've played WF44 solitaire up to T30something. Allies had reached the S. Line and would easily have punched through.

I can recommend Fabio's Europe44, which also includes the East Front. It's at an even smaller scale.

Thanks Menchenfresser,

I'm going to d/l Europe '44 and have a look.

Wow. Thanks for suggesting Europe '44. I have started it up against the Axis PO. I don't think I've ever lost 6700+ Rifle squads on the first turn of a scenario before. :) Although it does make Normandy and Italy seem a bit small, though that doesn't bother me.

On that note: If anyone would prefer to play Europe '44 as the Germans, and would be able to do a few turns a week, I'd love to hear from you.
