View Full Version : Why you haven't seen many previews lately...
Hi all! I know a lot of you have been clamoring for more previews, and it's been a while since we've posted any. I just wanted to let you know that the reason isn't that we're ignoring you, but that we've decided to do some graphical updates to the program, and we're still changing a few things around. You see, David Heath has this little problem...he's bound and determined to make sure that when you spend your money on buying TOAW III from Matrix Games, that you are going to get your money's worth, and more.:hail:
We were actually very nearly wrappped up with the release code about a month ago, but we decided to add some more value to the game in terms of updated graphics and sounds, and to flesh out the scenario offerings that will ship with the program. We apologize for the delay to all those loyal fans chomping at the bit for the new release, but we hope that you understand and appreciate the reason for the delay.
To answer the inevitable question, as to when it will ship, I'll resort to my stock reply..."Soon. Very soon."

are you going to meet the end of this month?
or is the released going to be delayed?
anyway as long as what we get is a true enhancement to the version we're playing by now i don't mind waiting a bit more.

Best to take your time and get it right.
Updated graphics would be nice but the sound is at the bottom of the list IMO:blab:

I think there is only one solution. Jam will have to post another poorly clothed person. This time, himself... :bandit:

Actually, between this forum and the Matrix forum, I have seen quite a number of former, and new, people posting their desire to see TOAW3. Expect that once TOAW3 hits the street the message traffic here will multiply by a couple of magnitudes.

As long as no more than 10% say 'You suck' or 'I was robbed...' I'll be happy.

Edit: Sorry, image removed. It was crashing my freebie Geocities site, breaking mirrors, and taking up too much space on this page.

I'm familiar with the war-historical newsgroups. I was a lurker there for many years. I've seen the posts...
This game is trash, the angle of the front armor of (tank x) is totally wrong, it was 17 degrees, not 16!!! this game is unplayable because of this problem!!!
The sounds for the AK-47 were actually from an M-16, this SUX, what's wrong with them!!! this game is unplayable because of this problem!!!:clown:
I know that the people most likely to post are the people with problems. I also know that without consequences, some people tend to hyperbole. It's OK, I've got a thick skin!

Show some respect. The FT-17 is the father of all modern tanks.

You'd probably be disappointed. You'd be faster walking, would have to stop about once every fifteen minutes because of breakdowns, and I recall hearing that on at least some of the models, the exit hatch became so hot during operation that it was impossible to leave the tank whilst the engine was running.

That's a feature, not a bug! You don't want your crews being able to just bale out of a damaged tank during battle. It would be like giving your pilots parachutes. Bad for moral, eh what?
I saw either an actual FT-17 or its American knock off, the M1917 some years back at a museum here in Virginia. It's amazing how small they are.

BTW, some of my Rumanians armored units have FT 17 in FiTE, haha we will put it in good use... (why they used this old junk in 1941. is enigma, I guess that they didn't had anything better) :clown: this new smileys are way too cool

There you go. No room for the suitcases, and no bicycle rack either!
One of these days I have got to get down to Bovington Tank Museum. All sorts of stuff down there- such as the first land-battleship, the Vickers "Independent".
