Hi there all,
I am playing COW. I have played quite a bit against PO, but have no experience in PBEM. Anyone willing to give me an educational thrashing??
Thanks,
Grant

With the name “Grant” you should do quite well. I expect that you will find the competition here at a high standard and very enjoyable.
Think you might want to try something a bit different, such as a Lord of the Rings type scenario?

Sure, I am more interested in learning the playing style of PBEM atm than any particular era of warfare. Also, I have played a lot of the WWII scenarios against OP to death. What scenario are we talking about? Ho wlong & large is it and how do we get started?
Cheers & thanks for the reply

The LotR scenario is 20 to 30 turns long. The map is big and the number of troops is small. It is a contest of whether the good "Gondor" or the bad "Sauron" prevails in battle.

Thanks man,
I found it & downloaded it & took a look. Nice, although I fear the map is a ;little big for me with so few units. I would still like to play it though, as I love the books. Is it OK if I play the bad guy?? Sauron? If so email me your move )

I can't remember if you've registered for the ladder or not, Grant. (I'm the lucky guy that gets to put everyone in the system). But you'll find much more willing opponents if you've become a part of WFHQ's TOAW ladder!
play against me
im germany's most capable commander and a good teacher in massive self destruction

Mantis is correct concerning the ladder . . . it’s a part of their culture. You will need to enlist in the ladder if you intend on playing for points. This scenario is intended purely for fun. The attached screen shot shows a few of the characters around Rivendell.
Good Guys Turn 1 is ready to send . . . I need your e-mail address.

Woot!
My email address is gbgrantme@aol.com. Looking forward to playing you Rhino ;)
I'll register for the ladder now, I hope (techno fear rising)
Becker I would love to play you, perhaps something about 10 to 20 turns in WWII?? Lemme know .
Thanks Mantis for the tiop, I hope I am capable of the registration. If not, I'll be knocking on your door; digitally speaking.

Gondor Turn 1 on the way. Shouldn't take too long to get to LA, I'm just a few miles south in San Juan Capistrano.

The House Rules are attached. We are not playing by these rules, but they make be used in future games.
I think that rules of this nature are also applicable to most scenarios covering the ACW and earlier periods. Especially scenarios attempting to model the ancient/medieval periods.
