Yes, I know that this is completely off topic, but forgive me...
I tried the demo these days of Heroes V and game is great, graphics as well!

Try it to see that there is also some other graphics than TOAW  ancient graphics...

I don't mind TOAW graohics but I like to try some new games from time to time so that my 6600GT don't cry :smoke:

Raver I know that you like HoMM, did you tried the demo of H5?
Battlefield 2 is also nice.

lol .... I saw your post and rushed into it to see what you thought of the game. I havent downloaded the demo yet - my internet connection is a bit slow, but I might do it this weekend.

Are you a longtime fan of HOMM? Did you play HOMM3 and 4, and what did you think of them? I've been playing a lot of HOMM3 at the moment - its still a great game.

Heh :) Yes, do try the demo when you get the chance... Many things are - familiar and almost the same like stuff from previous version but there a lot improvements and new things... I played last night the demo and when my hero went to subterrain I zoomed graphics to the max and I can tell you it's great - mixed with atmospheric music then I felt like true adventurer

I don't fall just for pretty graphics but graphics in Heroes V is really up to date and done really good. Autosave function must be turned on in options, I already thought that they forgot to put it in and friend told me that it is there. I had some problems with graphics - it kind of messed up but I guess that is because of demo and when I lowered res. to 800x600 it was ok - even on 800x600 game looks gorgeus...

I liked Griffin ability of Battle Dive - it loses one turn and "dissapear" but later attacks selected unit (you must be careful that unit is actually there so best to attack shooters with this ability). New initiative combat system is great - you see little pictures of what unit play when - and if you cast spell on some unit this will play earlier and that way you can make some tactical corrections...

What I didn't liked is menu with City Building option - in previous versions it was much better I think - but they have now really breathtaking animations of all cities, influenced by LOTR movies I think. Anyway, I think that game will be classic in a sense. They even hired game designer from Warlords to help them with scripted Campaigns - they are cool with animations and objectives that triggers animations - movies...(influence Warlords Battlecry and Kingdom Under Fire).

Well, yes I am sort of long time Heroes fan. I started with King's Bounty on Amiga but later played Heroes from Heroes III actually. That I played mostly with my friends hot seat and later WOG, that is really great fun, esp. 2 VS 2 games, good game to socialize... :smoke:

I liked Heroes 4. I know that many didn't liked but for me H4 was OK game. Yes, I know that AI was really lousy and there was some other problems too... 3DO was in big trouble... I was in contact with both Jon Van Caneghem and Trip Hawkins and in fact both guys are genius.
