Occasionally people complain about their email provider, especially if someone is using hotmail or the like. I was helping out another chap with some suggested places to get a free account and thought I would share them here, plus see if you have any other suggestions. Ideally you want to find one that has POP access, so you can use Outlook or Outlook express (or Pegaus or Eudora, and so on) as your client.
The main problems with Hotmail is the default 2mb limit as well as delivery problems which many Hotmail users will tell you is unreliable at best.
Here are some suggestions.
http://www.zapo.net/ -- Haven't used them, but they have 10mb space and you can use Outlook with them.
http://www.hotpop.com/index.jsp -- Haven't used them, but you can use Outlook with them (in addition to webmail)
http://www.myrealbox.com -- used them before and they are pretty good (you can use Outlook with these guys)
http://www.huntseek.net -- used them before and they are pretty good too
http://www.freebiemcgee.com/freeemailaccounts.html -- for list of several others
