Looks like a fun time!
Well? Well?! How's it going? :hmmm:
Some of you have had the "game" now for ohhhhh 15 hours... :whist:
(obviously I'm having an UP day with all my posts!!):cheeky:
Just sent off my purchase file. I think this was a great idea for a qb. Looks like alot of fun, and a good recipe for some tense encounters! :surprise:

Just sent off file 1 to mangus2000.
Should be interesting, if I read the rules correctly regarding what we can't and CAN purchase.;)
Both sides forces have been picked and we are off and running.
Anyone have any comments / ideas / predictions they care to share based on the parameters?

I haven't heard from my opponent (RangerBooBoo) yet, either, despite sending him an email declaring my readiness to begin hostilities...:ar15:
How many more days before my automatic total victory?
Sending out queries to everyone...
MIA opponents will be DROPPED immediately on 4/26.
Players without an opponent will then be re-matched.
Note that the "B" bracket will have an odd # of winning players.
This situation will be adjusted after Rd3 in some manner.

Sorry to have missed this folks but been swamped at work and still having ISP problems. Switching ISP's though so please send any mailings to mark.nelms@sbcglobal.net. I'll try to get on track tonight. The note from K was the first email I had received on this.
The info has been sent to your "working" email address.
Wouldn't want anyone to miss the party! :)

Just thought i would post the map me and Iron Mike are playing on.
It seems to be quite a fair one to me, nice central flag on top of a hill.
What does every one elses look like?
What is that symbol on the flag?

Thats my modded Victory flag, it says "V for Victory", i prefer it to the boring old question mark.
You will have to post a new flag, L for Looooserrrr . ;) :smoke:

Iron Mike's Kubelwagens put up a brave and valiant fight nearly taking an entire armoured platoon with them. But now they burn like a beacon for a free Europe, guiding my men on to victory after victory till this Nazi scourge is banished from these lands.;)

Any comments on the parameters for this round.
Yes, but not yet. I have guesses as to how my opponent interpreted the parameters, and, I also don't want to give anything away about mine. I am sure we both have pretty good ideas about what the other did, yet actual makeup is yet to be completely revealed.:whist:
[Edit] He already took out a PzIV with a 'zook at about 160m. Not bad long range shooting.
Are you milking for info?
Gonzo,
Did you get my setup file ?

Um, no. Since that report, I have taken out one of his AFVs, a TD or Tank, can't remember. Seems to be a few biologicals running around.

Latest news from my BoB battle aginst Iron Mike is that I have lost another
M10. I had asked it to fast move through a gap in some woods and he decided to do a big revese move that took him through the sights of a PzIV.
On the onther hand I have just taken out a SP gun at iirc something getting close to 190m:smoke:
Doesn't make up for the M10 though.
Overall the game could go either way at the mo, with 5 turns left.

But you had to use Shreks to pull it off.
For my next trick I will use Conscript PIATS to get a kill of over 200m:surprise:

Btw- that was a nice long 160m shot.
I had one shoot 4 rounds at under 100m & miss before the Pz went "Hey did you hear that, what was that?" Then slowly turn & blow the Zook away with one shot.

I think this one deserves a round of applause:clap:
SP Commander:
"Look over there, an Americana Panzerschrek Team right out in the open!
Quick, turn, turn or he'll get away!!!!
Foolish yankee, at this range he couldn't hit the side of a Zeppli..." :scream: :skull:
Nice shot.
What made you decide to run out in the open like that? Was he just sitting there or did you see him coming & set him up?

My question is......what kinds of sick commander tells his bazooka man to stop in the middle of a ROAD to take a 197 meter bazooka shot?
You were lucky....the SP should have eaten you up. :yummy:

They are brave souls my men. I had them on move to contact to try and get close to the Panther but got lucky with the SP. On the last screen shot you can see the yellow line of the Panther aiming at them. Then they ran:eek: :sneak:

The latest news from my battle with Iron Mike
I have just lost two M10s in two turns, not good, the first was making a quickdash the cover of a house when he was spotted by an SP gun BLAM:dead:
The second was just coming out of cover to try and cover the expected advance of Mikes Panther when that too got hit. The M10 was at the bottom of a hill when it saw the panther, It got the first shot off but missed and then took it the neck from the panther.
The end of the turn saw one of my remaining M10s coming into the sights of the few PzwIV my opponent has.
Will the evil Iron Mike score that much needed kill? or will the Mighty Mangus2000 gain another stunning victory?
Only time will tell.

It is a game of cat and mouse. Who's the cat?
We are entering the last turns, and the game looks like it will be a mad dash for the finish line. Who will get there the fuhstest with the mostest?
So far my strategy has been panning out, but it has been a nail biter.

It was a bit of a tennis match for awhile. But, I squeeked it out in the end with a Minor Victory. Mangus had enough near units to negate my physical occupation of one objective, but I ambushed an M-10 trying to dash to the last flag. I wouldn't have needed to do it if he hadn't taken out my Panther with a single shot. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I amvery disapointed about my loss but i couldn't have lost to a nicer bloke.
Looking back at the final turn, I should have not rushed for the flag and stayed where i was. You live and learn!:upset:
So, what do/did the players think of this rounds parameters with no INF/Arty?
Was it different / fun / interesting?

It certainly made for a good game of Cat and Mouse for me and Iron Mike.
You had to be very careful about your movements, and my Zooks certainly earned their money on that game.
All round i thought it was a nice quick game that made for some interesting tactics.
If only i had left my M10 where it was on th final turn:mad:

You probably would have squeeked out the win, by a few points.
Without true infantry to protect the armor, it was interesting. Being able to include support units was good. I didn't go with MGs, as I didn't believe they would have made an impact on the game. After this game, I see it differently. They would be good for keeping armor buttoned, as well as to suppress the enemies' support units.
It would be interesting to hear/see what other's maps looked like. We didn't have many channels that were easy to traverse. But, there was enough open space for guns in the right spots. I was lucky to start with the high ground, and had fairly well covered approaches to the objectives.

How do we stand to date?
4 of 11 games still running.
Dave and I are finished, minor to myself 57-43.
Went to report but cannot find the scenario?? Or am i missing something?
Very interesting game, thought it was all over for me when i had no more AFV's and even offered a ceasefire, Dave thought I still had it so wanted to carry on, when i took out his last Panther with a zook it auto-ceasefired on him giving me a minor :)
Round 3 is over- ended on 6/25, the extra week is also over.
Has the following game been abandoned?
