I think that pc game graphics now are at a point to where that it doesn't much matter to me how much better they get. I would rather see someone use graphics like this and spend the rest of the time actually developing the important parts of the game than trying to accurately display every blade of grass on a hill.

I think it is safe to say that everyone wants great gameplay and replay value (can't think of why a gamer wouldn't want that). If I can also get killer graphics to go along with it, then I'm all for it!

The way I see it, if I'm going to stare at my monitor for hours on end, I would like it to look nice.

It depends how different this is to VBS1 as to whetehr I'll pick up.

as Leftie says, graphics are okay, but having forked out a lot of cash for VBS1, they'd have to be photorealistics, and the gameplay would have to be flawless for me to put it aside.

Oh come on, individual blades of grass is so yesterday.

We're already moving on to individual blades of grass moving independently, with some showing signs of wilting in the sun, and others having been bent or crushed by someone having walked by recently :)

I'm sure they'll get around to game play some day :)

I predict this will be a decent hit. Operation Flashpoint was a really big hit that continues to enjoy considerable support within the community. Since VBS1 carries a massive price tag and is not readily available to US gamers, I'm not sure that is really a viable option. Even if it is now available, I'm not aware of any fan base for it.

there is a fairly dedicated group of gamers for it (and it is available in the US now) but the price tag + anti-piracy set up means the fan base is quite small.

it's not a viable option imo, but in my case, I have that much VBS1 stuff that AA will have to offer somethign that trumps all of that, and I can't see a massive fan base doing that - as many good additions to the community the mass market appeal will bring the morons as well.

shop prices plus retail anti-piracy schemes will mean a glutton of warez kiddies.
