The third scenario of Advance Across the Don has been sent.

The time limit is October 31st for completion please.

The Tournament games were all specially constructed to be very historical simulations. Unforturnately, many of the scenarios are intentionally designed to be out of balance (because the battles were actually tipped to one side or the other). During the second scenario for example, the Soviets caught the Germans way off guard. Historically, the disorganized unprepared Soviet attack kept the Soviets from really causing the Germans a problem as the German line was very thin. In the Tournament, scores are based on how well you won the winning scenario, AND how badly you lost (or perhaps did not lose ;) ) the underdog side. So, although fine for a Tournament, they are really not suited for normal gaming where you would want a balanced game.

With that disclaimer in mind, anyone who wants a set of the files, I will send them a copy.

Note: the Stalingrad series will be divided into 5 seperate Tournaments. Advance Across the Don (the German attempt to cross the Don in their push to the Volga) is in the 3rd of 4 scenarios. I will start registration of the next Tournament (the IV Panzer Army's drive to S'grad) in the series (open to all) as soon as the final scenario is sent.

Is the October 31st deadline etched in stone for the 3rd scenario?

Reason being I have a couple of pretty good ones going on this scenario and it would be a shame to cut it short.

Is special dispensation granted or is the judging panel open to monitary favors? Just kidding!!

Would like to know your thoughts!

The deadline is loose. Thus far only one game has been completed. What I want to avoid is a dragging out of months and months to finish a scenario as in the first two. Keep playing, I will probably make a call for the completion of the third scenario in about a week and give everyone a few days after that to finish up.

The forth scenario however will be going out around the 31st.
