How many meters is 1 altitude level difference ?

Vageli,

You can't define that, it is rather an abstract value.

Ok, perhaps you can... by doing some calculus according to simple geometry.

The only you need to do is to relate you equations with the LOS factor.

(if you wish further explanation, you may ask me)

Bottom Line:

IF the Hex is 50 meters then :

The building is 15-18 meters height.
The level 1 hill is 10 meters, a height of 45 means a height of 45 meters.

Pyros

So a level 15 cliff is ~150m.

Now terrain can block direct firing. Ok. But can it block indirect firing? Arty unit is at the base of a level 15 cliff (facing it). Can it fire indirectly over the cliff? Because in RL it would be something like ->:argh:
(not relavent to actual gameplaying but always wanted to ask it :D )

Vageli,

Good question... :drink:

  No way that the developers have included in the code the trajectory curve... no way...

Pyro we're talking topography not topology! :)

Another question. Are elevation/height differences taken into account in the range calculation of the firing. I mean, if you fire a terget at a neighboring hex, does the firing "subroutine" consideres it to be a 50m shot without "caring" if it is at zero height or on top of the 150m cliff?

High grounds... I am not sure about that... I will have to check.

Btw, go and watch Anna Vissi...you... dirty Despina Vandi fan...
