Tactical disposition :
South of the central road : 1/79 and 2/79 (amx13)
North of the central road : 2/89 and 1/89 (m50)
Tactical consideration : low visibility. MBT M50 not as strong as the other MBT in the battlefield. AMX 13 well equiped. So i decided to attack with AMX13 companies as main task force...
The story :
Companies were moving west in order to establishe a first defend line on the main road crossing North south. A group of T34 were detected heading to the north of the east airport. Elements of 1/79 fight againts them, destroying all T34 for about 5 AMX 13 destroyed. Meanwhile, it seems that the ennemy built a defend line of SU 100. The best way to destroy them was a flank attack and the 2/79 company was ordered to do it… So heading north, this company destroyed 9 SU 100 when it met a second group of T34. The fight was hard with a lot of AMX13 destroyed and all T34 destroyed.
1/89 and 2/89 seems to be too weak to engage SU100 and T34 so they were waiting till the area was clear, wich was done at about 0730, 0745. So the both company headed to the 03 easting gridline.
Near 0800, a third group of T34 was detected on the north and the remaining of 1/79 engaged it with a great success.
Debriefing :
Israel loose 22 AMX 13 and 2 M50.
Egypt loose 28 T34 and 10 SU 100.
