Welcome to this project forum.

It will be functional after a few days....
But in the mean while you may introduce your self to the others.:smoke:

I am Pyros Lambert 36 years old, and I have a twisted passion with topo maps...

My wife thinks that someday I will be someone really important from this kind of activity, or perhaps, she finds this way, plenty of free time to go for her Gym work-out...hmmm I need to visit this Gym sometime in the future :devious:

I think we should aim for innovations... a lot of innovations!
Perhaps the motto for this campaign should be:
...hard for rookies and extremely harder for the experts...

cheers,
Pyros

I'm Mark, 14 years old, northern Virginia, USA (that's by Washington DC). I haven't designed many realistic scenarios so far, but I hope that I can still do well. I've never designed a topo map before and probably shouldn't try (there are better people for that, but if asked I will do it). I think I'd do best with research and actually building the scenario once the map is completed.

Mark,

If you start to do campaign designing from the age of 14, then I bet that by the age of 21 you will have designed your first PC game!!!

Hiya!

I'm Ulf Lundström - helluva name, I know, but I didn't choose it myself, actually my father should have had that name but he got named after some American called Ronald... so I got stuck with Ulf :whist:

I'm 28, live and work in the north of Sweden... just above the arctic circle. I have no wife, but I have 15 kids age 9-10... in my classroom that is (I'm a teacher).

We have a saying here on the arctic circle;
Steel Panthers is not a game, it is a religion.

I'm Stewart Rose, 45 years old married with 4 children (aged between 9 and 22). My wife likes that I play Steel Panthers because it stops me channel surfing.....
I have lived in beautiful Aotearoha (New Zealand) all of my life.
Having enjoyed some of the scenario's in the various SP games, i see this as my chance to try and give something back. I don't know how I will go with the hands on stuff, but researching will be a fun challenge.

Let me see if I understood what you have just said...

1. You are teaching the lesson "101 Steel Panther Scenario Designing" in 15 kids age of 9-10,

or

2. You are playing SP, against 15 kids, in a classroom... between 9 in the morning... up to 10 in the night... and your opponents (you know, we are all kids :) ) call you as the "teacher" ??

You know that the name of the region Olympia has its origin from the ancient Greek region of Olympia in Peloponisos (place of the Olympic games).
I will try to find it in a map and send it to you.

My name is Cam and I am 33 yrs old. I have been married 6 yrs and have a 3yr old daughter and dog and two cats. I work in a factory in London, Canada making sandpaper. I was in the Canadian Army for 10 years as an Infanteer. I have been playing Steel Panthers since it came out and have been wargaming since I was about 10 years old. I also build 1/72 scale models and figures to wargame with on a sandtable, I have an extensive collection(mostly unbuilt). The beauty of my current job is that I have access to the internet while I watch the sandpaper go by and have this time to contribute to the project. I hope to learn a lot and contribute as much as I can.:)

If there is something specific you would like me to do? I can draw maps in spMBT if you have topo maps to convert. Or if there is some specific research for a battle that you think is a priority, just let me know.:salute: :toast:

I would be very happy if you could start the historical research of the battle of Crete.

Read some of the histories and try to see how we could create 4-5 scenarios based on real events.

Just keep in mind that if a battle contains 2 battalions (for the human player), then this is a big battle for SP, but a small battle for this kind of engagments. So try to keep things under the size of 2 (max 3) battalions.

Great, :smoke:

Cam,

Btw, this collection of official archives is a goldmine

http://www.awm.gov.au/histories/chapter.asp?volume=18

Chapter 10 – The Problem of Crete 197
Chapter 11 – The Loss of Maleme Airfield 221
Chapter 12 – Defence of Retimo 256
Chapter 13 – Heraklion – Defence and Embarkation 279
Chapter 14 – Retreat and Embarkation 295

You may use it as an additional history source.

The best thing to do is to make a print-out of these .pdf text files and then read them as a novel book (and taking / marking notes directly in the paper). It better for your eyes!!!

cheers,

Hi

I'm Peter Dunn from Sydney Australia. Marcus and Kiwi are slightly wrong because Paradise is on the other side of the Tasman Sea from where they're sitting.

I'm 32, married 7 years, 4 year old boy, 18 month old girl, 7 year old car, no pets and a rapidly expanding waistline! Been playing wargames since I was about 6 courtesy of older brothers, now I do it to avoid my wife so this project should get a lot of my time.

It's good to see you found the Australian War Memorial site, Pyros. I go to the memorial at least every 6 months. It's an amazing museum about some amazing people

Kia Ora Gentleman

I am Jason, 36, lovely girlfriend, no kids, no pets, no money :-)
Been wargaming on and off since I was 10. Been loving SP series since I found SP1 in the early 90s.
Done a bit of designing, maps, scenarios...games testing for Wild Bill...heaps of PBEM which is the main reason I play the game.

I'm here to help in any way I can I have spent a fair amout of time reading about NZ army in WW2 so I may come in useful at some point.

As for NZ being paradise...I am a Kiwi living in Melbourne, which is a cool city, but I am just finishing a months gigging in Wellington NZ and it's been wicked getting the vibe of my homeland again.
My vote is for the paradise that contains no poisonous things and does not have kamakazi flies!!!!!!! Thus it would be Aotearoa bro!!
