One thing that makes me worry is that I can't find any mentioning of a scenario editor in Distant Guns. Or at least plans for future release of some sort of modding utility which would enable you to create your own scenarios, or modify them. Is it just me or there isn't any? It sure is fun to experience Tsushima battle or Ulsan, but eventually you will want to test your skills online against something more flexible than AI and better balanced scenarios would be absolutely necessary. As for singleplayer, I think it's a must-have feature too. So...make my day, SES, give some confirmation. ;)

I've heard several rumors, from reading the various previews. Some say there won't be an editor at least in the initial release, some say there will be.

I put in my vote for having a scenario editor at the earliest possible time.

I'd also like the ability to add new ships to the game, different from the Japanese and Russians, so we could play other battles with the same engine. For instance, what if Fashoda had led to an Anglo-French war? Or say WW1 started before 1910, as it could well have.

There is a random battle generator, but nothing has been said of a full scenario editor in the initial release.

Well if they sell enough copies hopefully with the next installment. Do I hear WWI :whist:

No word from the devs? I don't like it. Doesn't look good, eh?

Just putting in my 2 cents in favor of a scenario editor for DG.

Also I think a shipyard program that allows a player to design period warships from the keel and up would be too cool for words.

Still looking forward to play this fascinating game.

There is a program for that called SpringSharp (http://www.springsharp.com/). Of course, it doesn't allow one to import the designed ships into a game...

Still a very cool toy. Thanks for the link!

I think a scenario and/or database editor is almost a must for a wargame now days.
If I want history I'll read a book, the problem with history is everyone has a different version. An editor allows me to play my own version of what if.

I don't have a problem with it being a addon.

Game mods and editors increase the life span of games.
