"Russian Invasion Of Finland" Test
Russia vs Finland / Winter 2007
====================================
For a substantial time russian scientists have been predicting and plotting the positions of the world's remaining mineral resources through their newly developed laser-sensor sattelite network. It came as a substantial surprise when the sensor equipment discovered and reported significant deposits of Uranium, buried not far under the surface of Russia's long-despised neighbour - Finland. The deposits, strewn across Finnish mainland and the Aland Archipelago in the Berian Sea were classified by the Russian Authoritives as "MOST IMPORTANT", and much effort has been put into urgently preparing a strikeforce to invade the nation of Finland with the sole objective of securing and extracting the uranium resourses. This scenario is a tester/preview of the campaign, which will center itself on the capture of the Aaland Archipelago through small speznaz insertions, and then to go on to the invasion of the Finnish mainland.
This scenario focuses on the capture of the Island of Kapra, with the purpose of later establishing a Long-range SAM battery on its coast to reduce Finnish Air Power when the main invasion begins. Little did the troops know, a foreign ambassador was taking a fishing vacation on this very island, capture or killing of whom will result in another nation entering the war on the Finnish side...
OBJECTIVE:
To Secure Kapra Island in the Aland Archipelago. We must take the main village and the village port in order to prevent anyone escaping in a ferry and warning the mainland. We must capture the fishing huts for the same reason. Finally, in all the urgent preparations we were inadequately supplied, and our troops are very hungry. Take and hold the Fish factory so that they can fill their stomachs.
TROOPS:
Three Speznaz Teams (Alpha, Beta, Gamma) each Comprising of Three Speznaz Infantry Teams and One Speznaz Support Team, assisted by two Snipers and one MG squad are on the way to Kapra in three Speznaz-purpose Hovercraft. The Russian Airforce have also been requested to provide a state of the art Ka-52 Helicopter to offer fire support countering any sizeable threats the Fins may have. Finally, we also have one remote-controlled RPV observation aircraft to provide us with video surveillance of enemy positions.
ENEMY:
Intel reports that there are about 200-250 villagers inhabiting this island, most of them working either as fishermen or in the Fish factory. There is also evidence of Port police units present at the ferry docks. We must remember that these Islands are weapon-free zones, meaning that every household is likely to contain a firearm, thus turning the villagers into lightly armed, and yet considerable threats. Be cautious in your approach and suppress buildings as you advance. Also be wary of enemy ambushes - this is their turf which they know like the back of the hand, and caution should be displayed at all times.
