Comrades,

I am very sorry to announce my withdrawal. Being a CO in this campaign is the best fun I could ever imagine to myself, but doing the "job" right it takes at least 8-10 hours per week or even more just coordinating things, answering to people etc. And then there are the training battles and making the training scenarios.

I have an RL project that needs more of my free time and I cannot do this in paralel. This is the main reason. I also posted earlier that I am having time problems and this campaign takes more time than Red Snow did.

I have also been tackling with health problems as well and in November when I volunteered for the job it looked like a surgery in January will solve it but it looks like there is no surgery needed but also the doctors are puzzled about my case.
(I have a temperature above 37 C every day and the doctors don't know the reason.)

So I have to resign. You have been a very good team and I believe within these 3 months we made some progress towards a victorious outcome. I see that there is progress in the training most of the people have played several battles with their equipment. That is good. We (or mostly me) have scetched the operational opening moves and discussed a lot of aspects but an over-all plan has till to be developed.

I also emphasise that you must help the next commander more with the administrative duties and take part more actively in the operational designing in the future. This is not only a let's play some SP thing!

I myself will be semi-retired for a while I may do some design work occasionally it depends on the mood and time.

My last advices are:
-in the deloyment you have to distrunute the FOs and PRP vehicles among the fighting units!!!
-make over-all operational plans on different possibilities (eg different axis of NATO attack)
-update the training scenarios with the 150mm Akatsyas which have AP ammo and continue the training. A counter-measure has to be found for the TI. As much as I can tell it may be the Hinds which are tough enough to survive from OP turn to OP turn. Akatsyas with AP ammo also help a LOT. You also have to be very proficient, more proficient than your NATO counter-parts.

And the last but most important: This campaign will be primarily decided at the OPERATIONAL level. Good operational intel, maneuvering and timing to achieve local superiority will be decisive. So be good at it.

I thank everyone for the support and wish you good luck in the campaign,

Artur.

:(

Very sorry to hear that Artur.

No chance of you staying if we were to distribute the "staff duties" more?
Be leaving some pretty big shoes to fill. Anybody think they can step up? I know I can't. :nervous:

Sorry to hear that Arthur, but also understandably... I hope the doctors can help you soon.

As for an 'replacement' (sounds horrible) I just can say that I might have the time for it for a month, until university starts again, but I lack the experiance needed to tackle the important issues as an overall Commander, not to mention that I surely don't have the time after the holidays are over.

It would be very good if we could find an agreement along the lines Wulfir proposed.

I hope will get well. Sorry to hear that you can't keep on ordering us, you were doing a great job. And I'm sorry to say but I don't have enough time to take the command.

I'm very sorry to hear that Artur. But I understand completely. It's a lot of work coordinating things the way you did and you've done a tremendous job.
Best wishes on your health issues and the RL projects.

regards, Tanker

First off.......I hope your health issues are taken care of, RL always comes first.

I have to say that we suffered a great loss with Arthur having to withdrawn. He did an excellent job in organizing us and moving us forward to prepare!! You will be missed. I hope sometime in the future your RL issues will allow you the time to rejoin us at any level of play. Thank you.

As for leadership, I do not have the experience to lead, as was clearly shown to me by the outstanding job Arthur was doing. I would be willing to help whoever steps up as much as I can.

Jad

Good luck Arthur!!

Well, I am very late to react, but I am really sorry that Arthur cannot continue - it will be very hard (if not impossible) for the next commander to fill his boots.

I am ready to help anyone with my best, although I will be away a lot nowadays.

Arthur, please keep in touch!

It will take a team effort but it can be done. Artur usually goes above and beyond on these things anyway doing much more than any other "team" commander so don't take the things he has done as a benchmark for what the position takes. ;)

The biggest obstacle is to try to keep everyone in the action and communicate so things get done when I start requesting them (like movement orders etc).

When I need things, I'll ask here on the forum. If you need information . . . ask.

Comrades,

Thank you again for the support. The show must go on.

If you give more administrative support for the co it is much easier. I can give some examples:
-When I asked for the training battle progress very few answered so I had to write e-mails or PMs to the rest. That is a lot if you do it for 7-8 people.
-It is all the same when there will be real battles.
-Everyone if he has problems - rightfully- turns to you for help like problems with COCAT, battle setup, etc.
-Someone else shall have to collect the intel information gained during the tactical battles.

Don't get me wrong this is not the reason why I withdrew but if I had not withdrawn I woulf have asked for more help.

Here the regimental commanders can help a lot if the people go to them first and then to the CO. Also the Regimental commanders get the progress report from the subordinate commanders and report to the CO.

Also more contribution is needed at the operational planning. Not everyone has to do it but at least 3 people including the CO should know very well the operational aspect.

If you read my post where I nominated I also tried to build up a staff. That was very partly successful. Tanker and Wulfir helped me a lot, Tanker made Air experiment scenarios, Wulfir helped me out with training scenarios.
But I could not persuade anyone to take off some weight regarding the training coordination. I think the Regimental commanders should do that job. They simply have to track 2-3 people that is not much. The same goes when there will be "real battles" and the collection of intel from them whixh is passed to the Intel officer.
Then it will be much easier for the CO. He will have to do a lot even so. But something less.

I would also like to tell something about the campaign. Being frank I have to say we are a bit underdogs here. I know it you know it since all of you played now several training battles. SPMBT has not the best point ballance but that's it. I will never regret that I joined this team nor should you IMHO.
Even a fool could win with TI sometimes couldn't he, so what's the challenge? :). -ok I am a bit exagerating but not too much.
That is why we need the training -but I would have done them even being with NATO- and we need a more superior operational plan.

Comrades, go on with the good work you have done and be a bit more attentive and proactive regarding administrative tasks to help your next CO. Again, you are a very good team.

Good luck!

Artur.
