After nearly two months of hard work from a very excellent Wild Team, a new campaign will be avilable soon, probably by the end of the month. its about time we had a new campaign in this fine game and you know how I love the Pacific Theater!

It is the true story of Lt. Col. Brute Krulak and his 2 Marine Parachute Regiment. In November 1943 they were sent on a diversionary attack on Choiseul Island to divert Japanese defenses from Bougainville.

The raid was a success but it involved some tough fighting and some dangerous moments.

This has been captured in the campaign.

When you begin, you'll have two choices, to fight with Col. Krulak to the south, or accompany Major Bigger to the north.

So actually its two campaigns in one. You can play it through twice without ever repeating a battle.

It is called "A Deadly Diversion."

My thanks to the Wild Team for their work. The participants are as follows:

A DEADLY DIVERSION
October 28-November 3rd, 1943
Choiseul Island, Solomons

Campaign-Coordinator: Wild Bill Wilder
Krulak Campaign Design: Wild Bill Wilder
Bigger Campaign Design: Bruce "Recon" Hodgman
Map Design: Ken "Orzel Bialy" Baran

Testing Team: Bruce "Recon" Hodgman, Joe "Joss" Osborne, Roland Rahn, Ken "Orzel" Baran, Jack Winthrow, Sherman "Trip" Triplett, Massimo "Mad Italian" Rocca, Mark "Warlord" Ezra

My special thanks to these fine men for the generous use of their talents and tenacity

Is this "campaign" in the Mega Campaign sense of the word Bill?

Or have I gotten out of the loop so bad I missed something :)

I'd love to know more.

Is this "campaign" in the Mega Campaign sense of the word Bill?AFAIK it'll be a campaign of the standard SPWAW format, nothing along the lines of a Mega but no doubt a quality one.

Well at the very least, anything touched by Bill is "Mega" in most of our eyes :)

It isn't, Aries, just a small campaign with two threes of action, an idea that we first introduced in the Mega Campaign Screaming Eagles.

I think you will enjoy it. None of the scenarios are monsters, most are 10-15 turns in length so things move pretty quickly.

Its mostly company level action or less in all of them. There are some rather unique situations, however, that should catch your attention.

Blunt is fine, mixed with kindness. That way I never have to guess (G)

So is this Aries, my old and very appreciated friend, Les from the far north? Man, if it is, I've been trying to get in touch with you for some time. I'll try through your website.

Geese there he goes saying he's my friend again. Come on Kunel, I have a negative reputation among the fringe to keep alive :) (just iognore the confusing positive rep I have showing here hehe).

Yeah, some insist on continuing to refer to me as my old alias Les the Sarge 9-1, but I sent him off into the deep south Pacific a couple of years back :)

Got your email though (before returning to the thread here).

I frequent here, as well as ArmChair General as well as a couple of small private forums these days. I only read now at Matrix Games and Wargamer.
