DUTCH TERROR!
(A very small quick campaign for WINSPMBT)
TEASER - Over the past several weeks there has been an increasing number of terrorist incidents in Holland. Intelligence sources believe these attacks are not the work of local Islamic Fundamentalists organizations but are being conducted by a resurgent Al-Qaeda network operating within Europe. It is well known that Al-Qaeda has threatened many European nations with retaliation for their support of and participation in the "Global War on Terror". Usually these incidents are bombings of high profile government buildings or officials but now a new type of target seems to have been added to the Al-Qaeda hit list.
On the evening of March 22, 2007 a large and heavily armed terrorist group descends upon the village of Schalkwijk in central Holland. While initially putting up fierce resistance local police are heavily outgunned and eventually withdraw from the besieged village. Within an hour Schalkwijk is under complete control of the terrorist band with most of the residents either dead, dying or hiding out in nearby woods.
Initially, Dutch authorities thought they would be negotiating with only the town residents as hostages. They were soon to discover that the terrorists had a much larger target in mind, the entire nation of Holland and her neighbors. As negotiations began the terrorist leader informed Dutch authorities he was in possession of a nuclear device. If Holland does not withdraw all of their troops from the Middle East, Afghanistan and the Balkans within 5 days he will detonate the bomb.
Wow, seems impressive. Cant wait to give it a go. What is the ETA of the campaign?

It's just about done. All I have to do is write a couple more of the text files and have it playtested. It will have 2 paths BUT each will only be 2 real scenarios (not counting the 1st scenario which is a branch one). Very Short, quick play.
You volunteering to playtest? :smoke:

Anyone else other than Vas want to playtest this for me. Its a very small campaign (3 scenario's at most - including the 1st scen which is a 1 turn path selection scen).
I am always willing to playtest. Just send it to my e-mail!
DD,
Nice work!
If you need a second opinion about anything, just send me a note! :)
cheers,

For those who are testing, there was a problem with the campaign file.
You can now get to the air assault scenario from the airfield. You can DL it from the same location or if you got it from me via email please send me an email and I'll forward it to you.

I was wondering to myself, "did I accidentally choose truck? I meant to choose air ... maybe the air comes next mission?" !!!
I did get it. I assume if I play it out "as is" it will be the equivalent of playing the truck missions? If so, I will continue. If not, I'll d/l the new version and start over.
ps Its a great campaign -- damn hard with just the mp5s! Really requires "close-in" tactics. "Getting there is half the fun!"
I'll email you more comments DD once I'm done with it.

-- damn hard with just the mp5s! Really requires "close-in" tactics. "Getting there is half the fun!"At Vas FURY's urging I have armed the Commando's with FN Rifles BUT the Pioneers still retain the MP-5's, to complement their Satchel Charges. :D

probably more realistic, but takes away the most unique aspect of it :(
either way, I'll finish it up with the mp5s and try it with the FNs.
its really quite challenging with just the mp5s. 150m range, and weapon slots 2, 3 and 4 are all range = 50!!! (pistols, nades and satchel charges if you're keeping score). thankfully you gave them all 7 smokes each, which really helps.
My suggestion was going to be to add a sniper to each platoon to keep the "get in close" challenge but to add some stand-off ability. Fun both ways I'm sure!
EDIT: I did download the new one and am in process of finishing it up ....

Since they aren't going house to house or room to room I decided to give them a little more range so at least they can try to get in closer. :smoke:
