I just got this idea that what if we give nick names to our units ? Naturally something according to wp ideology, maybe to every company-sized units..

It would serve two purposes, firstly everyone would get familiar with their units by naming them themselves. And secondly, it would be probably much easier to follow the units in different threads without always checkin the OOB. For example instead of talking about 2nd Co/1 Bn/6th MRR/2nd MR Div, company could be called "Red thunder" or something like that.. of course more creative and humorous, the better...

Comrades, what do u think of this ? Just an idea..

OK, but I would rather have it like Kampfruppe/TF "XY." Or give them callsigns.

I think it's a good idea, but if I understand the format none of us will "own" a particular unit. If it's like the Island campaign we may command armored units in one battle and infantry in the next, depending on what the battle is and who is available to take the battle. Is this correct?

My understanding was that each tactical commander controls his own forces - if it is divided, subcommanders take the detached force.

BTR-40s and T-62s falling from the sky? I like it! Maybe we should make it not airborne, but "spaceborne" regiment!

For the Hungarian one, what about MN 11. "Hunyadi Mátyás" Tank Division? (Today the remanining of the 11th division, a tank battalion (THE ONLY tank battalion in Hungary, BTW) has this name, 11th Hunyadi Mátyás Indep. Tank Battalion.) He is probably the most famous king of Hungary, ruled from 1458-1490, even occupied Vienna. Good omen for a division striking towards West!
