A New Addiction!!!!

Hello everybody,

I was never a hard-core wargamer, but in the last couple of months, I blame all of you for my addiction to the wargames. :D

When somebody posted about CMBB, I took a look at it, and decided that I was going to be extremely agitated if I didn't try it out the demo.

Thank God for T-3 line, in 5 or so minutes of download, I was able to install the game.

Here goes nothing....three scenarios come up...I decided to take on tutorial as I have never played CMBB or CMBO. Actually....I have a confession to make:

I have a twisted fantasy of sending every human being after a single German machine gun....I get more excited when somebody dies in combat (on computer, of course, what? Am I a sicko or something....?!) than having sex..

So I ignored the tutorial tips, I ordered all of my platoons in human wave after the German positions. Some of my troops were panicking....I was so furious!

I literally threw my stuff around in my dorm room...good thing I don't have a roommate, I went berserk! I wanted to see my troops die, die, die, die under relentless German machine gunfire.

I said to hell with it, I send my two Russian tanks, one of them got knocked out....I swore, and I went even more berserk....

I was so angry, I had a meeting with my Russian commander, and I told him in no uncertain terms, I want that German positions mowed down at all positions. I think he got my point! The lone tank went after all of the positions....in the process got immobilized....geez, I guess Russians are dumb after all!

I send all of my platoons, it seems that my platoon commanders are very eager to get killed as they usually went far ahead of their troops....too bad German infantry squads were able to mow them down....

After my fits of temper, and I send my lone unscathed platoon, it finally get it right. All of the German positions were overran in classic human wave. I had two Germans surrendering to me....

After some time...I decided in my mind that I am going to buy CMBO no matter what my friends say....

I wanted to hold off CMBB...as I don't have money....and I haven't tried out CMBO demo...maybe I will do that....

Now, let me get back to my shell and hide within it.....seeing that my addiction has taken over me.... :hurt:

Consider yourself warned my young friend--my addiction started with AH board wargames almost 40 years ago. Yes, there was a period of relative remission, then I discovered the computer....

One more thing--the CMBO demo is not quite as pretty (its origins are from the ancient year 2000), but it beats the pants off the CMBB in terms of game play.

I Started out with my first computer wargame No Greater Glory and got hooked on most of the ssi wargames, CM & CM2 are my new drug. But just this year I started playing tabletop wargames. My favorite is Paths to Glory.
