Comrades,
The deployment time is nearing and we have to think abut=out how we are goind to use our ADA. I write my view on the topic here but i need serious input and advice from the Air comrades, (and the requested test scenarios of course) and I would like them to take over this thread.
Our ADA consists of the following elements:
1. Inf SAM (SA-7 and Strela)
2. SPAA (ZSU 23 Sylkas) range of one.
3. Short range SP SAMs
4. Long range SAMs.
Using the inf-SAMs is quite straight forward as they go with their original units and protect them against helos and aircraft.
I thinf the rest of ADA should be deployed at least one hex behind the front if the interdiction of the Sylkas can be abstracted. The reason? A competent NATO commander will use the A-10s in standoff attacks. Because of that the planes are not put to risk and they will attack ADA units as first priority. After a time there will be not ADA left to be used in battles.
That way I would direct all unit ADAs under regimental HQ command and deploy behind the front.
Batteries of 4 Sylkas and 4 SA-9s should be formed and deployed accordingly.
First a layer of Sylkas, then a layer of SA9-s and a third layer of SA-6 and SA-4.
(If DD denies us to abstaract the Sylkas we shall move them with the Armor battalions which are reserves all over the front. -hopefully he won't )
With the reorganization of all ADA assets we shall have
4x2 SA-9 Gaskin batteries
6x4 ZSU23 Sylka batteries
1x2 ZSU57+1ZSU23 battery (Hungarians would get 2 ZSU23 from soviet HQ)
2x4 SA6 batteries
1x3 SA4 batteries
Opinions comrades?
Artur.
