There is a place, far, far away that specializes in CM scenario design.
This place is only concerned with making CM scenarios. From how to make them, getting help making them, getting them playtested, asking questions on how to playtest them, finding opponents to playtest them against.
There are articles that have been written about almost every aspect of how to make a CM scenario. Discussions on what the best tactics to use are. Short battle histories of select divisions. TO&E's for some generic units and some that are very specific.
The reason I bring this up, is, that I personally have written many of the articles. I have no intention of duplicating that effort on this site. There is simply too much material to do that.
I would suggest that you go, and if you do nothing else, READ!!
Read everything!!! Someplace in there, you will find something you didn't know about CM, no matter how experienced or new you are to the system. Much of what I know I learned on this site.
Go to The Proving Grounds, of course they would prefer you join, but that isn't mandatory. The site is extremely person friendly. (No flaming allowed.) No question is too stupid to ask, no question will go unanswered.
I'm not advocating that you all leave this site and make a mass exodus to TPG. What I am advocating, is the best site for CM scenario design and playtesting be added to your list of places to go for help, if you need it.
Of course, I'll answer questions here on this site as well. But I don't intend on reinventing the wheel here. And more importantly, you will get not only my opinion at TPG, but the opinion of much better designers than myself. Guys that make scenarios that get reviews calling their work the, "Best CM Scenario I've Ever Played"!! Those are the guys you want to learn from. The Proving Ground is loaded with that kind of talent. From all over the CM community, with representation from almost every major design group, with designers that have been included on some of BFC's game disks. These guys REALLY know their stuff.
Joining TPG is simple. Just sign up. There are no other requirements. You can browse the site without signing up. To download or post you must sign up. Registration is simply for security reasons.
Hope to see you there soon.
Good Hunting.
