Some asked for this so here is a brief overview of my ongoing DNO 3.3 game with Doc. I'm the Axis and just started planing for turn 015.

1) The finnish front
The soviets retreated early on and formed a strong defence north of Leningrad, consisting of some full strenght infantry divisions and tank corps. He withdraw some of the defenders this turn to cover my advance at 2) but he's still in a strong position and the finns couldn't advance fore some turns.

2) The Narva Front
The soviet main defence was behind the Narva river which I breched 2 turns ago. His forces here consist of numerous but not to strong NKVD, Destruction and militia units, many of them in a bad supply situation. He rushed some reinforcements into this region to stabilize the front but I have some hope to push him further back.

3) Breakthrough at Ostrov
I was able to break through his lines here 3 turns ago but he was able to contain me with reinforcement he got that turn.

4) Road to Moscow
I took Minsk in turn 3 and had hopes to quickly push on towards Smolensk on the road to moscow but my opponent moved most of his reinforcements there to build a strong defence between Vitebsk and Orsha. The north and south flanks are equally strong and I have some troubles pushing on.

5) Gomel
again a strongly defended front, held by several infantry divisions. I was able to cross the Dnepr at Dovsk, pushing my 18th Pz division south and threatening to encircle his units devending the Dnepr at Rogachev and Zhlobibn. He retreated this units towards Gomel last turn and I hope that I can kill some of them before they are able to fortify there positions again.

6) Kiev front
the Kiev front is the most fluid at the moment. Over the last 3 turns I was able to get his entire front moving, most of his divisions are in a bad shape and supply situation. I have high hopes to completely break trough his lines this round and keep him running. My opponent railed most of his reserves into this area last round, he also withdraw some of his southern forces, guarding the Dnestre river against the rumanian army.

Rumanian Front
not much happened here, the rumanians have a bridgehead across the Dnestre river at Dubossary and try to push the soviet forces back here but the rumanian units are weak in attack and the soviets are strong in defence, making this a bloody battle.

Kraut,

How do you make that image file?

I'd like to know that one too. You didn't just do some fancy pasting, did you?

He probably just made a map image and used a graphics program to cut out the part he wanted. Then he added the numbers.

Go to the menu and create map TGA file. But...You have to have a really good computer w/ a graphic card to do it. This size of a map will demand at least a 64mb graphic card. The TGA file can run up to 100-200 MBs. I use adobe photoshop to make my maps image. Its a good program and you can save the files in jpeg/gif format when you are ready.

yepp, I did a Map Image. But before creating such an image you should switch to zoomed out 2D view (you'll still get a 110MB image). Than I simply cut out the desired part, added the numbers and saved as JPG.

@Stauffenberg
indeed, but think about the poor designer who had to draw the map, research the OOB and T&E and playtest this monster. :D  :D

Thanks Pelle and Kraut! I thought I almost had an excuse to go out and buy me a brand new video card, since my old 32 meg Radeon A-I-W just wasn't cutting it. However, with running the zoomed version, it worked fine.

I have to start looking for more excuses now...really want a new Radeon 9700 pro.:hog:

It looks like there is quite a bulge developing in the Kiev Front region. If the Germans can take advantage of that it could be very bad news for Moscow.
