Just an FYI I about my current situation.

Due to my RL job being eliminated by my employer, I will now have to spend a considerable amount of time looking for new employment. I am not sure how much time this will take but I will try to stay on the forums as much as possible to keep things rolling. It may be a frequent occurance that I will only have time to pop in, make a few quick posts and then log off. This may be off and on all day/night as time permits.

If you are involved in the NATO vs WP Campaign please try to be as proactive as you can to keep your team planning moving along. As soon as I have a final copy of the revised COCAT *.exe file to use for the Campaign we will pick up the pace considerably. At this time I have all the 4 COCAT Maps, Unit Icons and Equipment text files finished.

I'm sympathetic- the exact same thing is happening to me as I write this...

So sorry to hear that, guys. This is not the time of year for that kind of thing. Actually, no time is good for that kind of thing.

DD, sorry to hear that,

I hope you soon arrange this issue :) Well I'm working on it. Just hope the search doesn't take away too much time from my efforts here.

Have you been on vacation or just really busy with some new project? :smoke:

Sorry to hear that Mike. I hope everything works out ok for you. I wish I could give you a job here at CGSC but there's no opening.

Well, I'm sure everyone will understand that your job hunt comes first, Michael. What are your skills/work history? I can keep my eyes open for you, even in your neck of the woods!
Also, check Northrop Grumman's site, as they have openings for "Military Analysts" all over the country and the world.

Mike,

Real life work is extremely demanding (12+ hours per day) during the last few weeks and this will continue for the next couple of weeks...

Its a hard situation, but I am not complaining. :hush:

Concerning game-related projects, there are 2-3 of them at an early stage (soon, I will send you a PM).

Btw, in Europe the unemployment rate is becoming a very serious problem since hordes of immigrants are invading all of Europe.

cheers,

Just found out this thread.

Best courage, DD and Hub. Smart heads rarely find themselves out in the cold for too long.

And gotta agree with Ach.....unemployment is becoming one of the new plagues over here.

Thank you for the support everyone- I appreciate it. Out of sixty resumes so far, I got one interview that came to nothing. Hopefully, things will pick up in the new year.

Besides my age, one thing that is a huge problem for me right now is lack of education. I went into a company from graduating high school and worked there for 32 years without upgrading myself in the meantime. Now my job is gone. For all you younger people out there who are still in school- get good grades, get as much schooling as you can, while you can- you never know what the future may hold.

That's a bit of a bummer after that length of time. Maybe now is the time though to put your name down for something.

It would keep you sane, you get to learn something and any prospective employer will see you've been re sharpening your tools and have not have just spent your time sitting at home.

Hell I spent 4 years in college while officially unemployed! :cheeky:

Along with Hub I add my appreciation to you all. An extra boost of supporting words are always welcome. :)

I have 2 interviews lined up. One tomorrow and then one on Tuesday. I'm not sure either will make a decision prior to the end of the year but here's hoping.

Good luck, DD!

And you too, Hub!

May sheer force of will serve you both.

It has served me well, when nothing else mattered.

I've had a few doors opened after being told the reasons why I won't be hired by saying as much & then asking what it would require so that I will be hired.

Prayers coming at you both.

Well this year continues to suck.

My wife has been having bad nosebleeds off and on for like 2 weeks now. We had been to the ER at least 8 times and she has had surgery twice. We went back to the local ER Friday night and after they had spent several hours trying to stop the bleeding they decided at about 2 AM Saturday to shuttle us off to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. My wife is still there and I only came home today to check on the kids and see their presents. The problem is we live almost 3 hours away from from Nashville so the kids were left with relatives who were visiting for Christmas. But at least they were in their own home Christmas morning.

Ironically, the nurse's name when we got there in Nashville was Katie T., which is also our daughters first name and last name initial.

To make matters worse I am supposed to start a new job (part time) this Tuesday. Actually the new job is kinda good news except that its 50 miles in the opposite direction from the hospital.

So what am I saying? Don't expect to see me on here much for the next couple of days at least. :( The NATO vs WP Campiagn rules are on hold till closer to the new year so it may be quiet in that part of the forums. Things will pick up again, I promise.

Congrats on the job, however.
