WOTY vs COW?

Dear Guys,
I've been unsuccessful locating a copy of the COW edition.
Anyone know where I can get one?
If I could get the WOTY edition can I patch it to COW standards? What would I be missing from the COW edition? Can't I get most scenarios from the Wargamer, etc.? Are there other interface or intro video or other differences?
Is WOTY a good way to go if I can't find COW?

First TOAW I was released in 1998. I think. Then folowed TOAW II. For this story Scenario CD's are not important.

Basically WOTY is TOAW I that had some code from TOAW II implemented. That was only interim version for standard which is COW that had database of all eras in there and in fact it is all TOAW's put together.

For introduction WOTY is OK but for PBEM COW is standard. You can buy WOTY if it sells for some cheap money so you can actually learn most of TOAW even from WOTY and later you can buy COW.

WOTY and COW are not compatible: WOTY cannot be upgrade/patched to COW. Take2 or Naval Sims used to sell ACOW, as far as I know recently. Can someone confirm this, and give a www? Anyway, Matrix will be realeasing a ACOW ME which means v 1.07 or better, probably within a month or two, maybe with a patch for old owners of ACOW-patched v1.04. I don't know if Matrix will charge newcomers more than oldtimers with the 'old' ACOW patched 1.04. What I've understood is that Matrix will charge 40 USD. As an oldtimer I don't mind putting in an extra 40 USD, but for a newcomer is would be silly to pay 2x40 USD.

Anyone knows more?

Edit: ACOW patch v 1.04 is the latest last working patch!
