If you are a NATO player please check in here (post) and let everyone know your availablility over the next month or so. Also post how much (what things) you want to be involved in for the campaign.

For example: Do you want to only do Tactical Battles (WinSPMBT), help with tracking enemy intel, planning, setting up training/test battles (to evaluate enemy unit capabilities), etc.

I'm still here as a West German Player. I'll take any command.

I should be able to devote at least three hours a week for the operations. I am willing to take command (naturally) and work as a planner.

Still here. Likewise over the christmas holiday period... Getting busier at work, but, as always, like to make time for this interesting project where possible.

I'm around, spend far too much time on gaming, and am willing to take whatever role is available/needed.

Ok, we need to lock in some tactical assignments.

So far it is Wappe and I for the US. I have not heard from Shadowcouger for some time. If he is unavailable then the US will need a third BN commander.

Who is the WG commander now? And are 2 tactical players enough?

Dita must be the Canadian commander as he is the only Canadian player! He will need at least one more player. Perhaps two.

Comments?

No comments. Things move very slow here.

Have we done whatever it is we need to do with these recon assignments? I think we need to get that done first so DD can kick things off?

Vas FURY

Vas FURY of Nato is here, i mostly prefer tactical battles but will assist the team in whatever means are required of me (lol, with some help please :cheeky: ). I check my PC for games at least once a day (often more), and i will rarely be away for more than a week (only thing that can stop me playing is a virus or a messed up connection  ). So, thats that. See you all.

I care. Still sorting out who's left after the holidays.

Vas FURY and bison24. If you would, I would like for you 2 to jump in as german Unit commanders. Pergite is the only active on BUT he seems to be limited in his time lately so we need at least 1 regular visitor to speak for that nation's units.

For starters I would ask you 2 to propose to Shortreengage where you think your units should be deployed to start the campaign. I think he has an overall plan already so that may not be needed but feel free to provide any input.

I could command a German unit if necessary, which one?

Double Deuce
26 Jan 06, 20:22
I could command a German unit if necessary, which one? There may not be a set one until we start moving units into contact. What I would like to do is have players ready to step in once contact is made so shortreengage doesn't have to worry about that part. That way he can concentrate on the operational aspects and not spend time trying to make sure he has enough tactical commanders to play battles at any given time.

I have to take a better look at the WG OOB. I think that they were planning 2 large Kampfgruppe but I'm not sure that that is the way to go.

Check WARNO#1. That gives a general idea of the Area of Operations. I will say that the Germans will have a major offensive roll in the operation. the Canadians are the Advanced Guard for the Division and one Task Force from the US will be the Division Reserve.

Unless anyone has objections I would like to open a new thread as a roll call for those interested in joining the 35th Pz Bde.

Just letting you all know we are progressing. :halo:

The WP sent a COCAT file with all their units custom named. Obviously I am having a heck a of a time figuring out which is which and renaming all of them to match the forum OOB threads. I have managed to post most of the current end turn locations in their OOB thread to detemine any contact, battles, intel, ect. I am now working on matching it to yours to see where anyone actually makes contact. I will also start populating your team official OOB threads as well, hopefully in the next day or so.

Just an early heads up! It looks like the Canadians will be pressing North into more WP forces so there will be opportunity to gain much intel this turn. ;)

I have updated the NATO ORDERS - Turn 1 - Official (http://www.strategyzoneonline.com/forums/showthread.php?p=507886#post507886) Thread with corresponding unit locations determined from the COCAT File.

Please review for accuarcy. I think you may have some differently named units then I have I the orginal thread I copied from. So please make sure I covered everyone.

I also need to know who will be the assigned commanders for each of the 3 battles so I can create the battle files and send them out for deployment. NATO forces will be given the opportunity to deploy their forces in all 3 battles this turn;

OP1 Battle: Aspertsham

OP1 Battle: Stritzling and Pleinting

OP1 Battle: Nord Haardorf and Parst

how large are those flights? If they are 2 flights of 2 then we will not engage with HAWKs. We won't even illuminate with targeting Radar. They are obviously trolling for my SAM site.

How far do Recon AC see? In case I want to put a few up.

My Helos are flying NOE. Ground level.

There was a question about movement. It is actually 1+2 354PZ moving from DD15 toDD14,DD13 and ending in DD12.

The 2 companies marked as WG 5th companies are Jaeger companies that I split off from those massive PzG HHCs. I'm using them for Rear Area security at present.

HHC from TF Sheriden picked up 2 scout teams from Team Bufford at CP1. I'm going to insert them as OPs next turn.

I dont know at present who will Run the Canadians in these next battles. Dita is back.

How far do Recon AC see? In case I want to put a few up.They must be given a hex by hex movement path and can see 2 hexes to each side of them as they move across the map. If they are flying at high altitude they are seen by any ADA and can be engaged if in range as they are over the campaign map. They cannot be used in any of the battles if they fly recon flights even though they would technically be in the campaign area. They can only complete 1 mission in a turn.

My Helos are flying NOE. Ground level.Roger, this means they cannot see further than in the hexes they pass though/enter, BUT thye cannot be enagged by any ADA unless in the same hex.

Shortreengage - You may already be working on this BUT if not, start thinking about what Arty assets if any to assign to each Battle Thread. I'll need them to begin creating the actual Pbem files.

Pepper and Dita have 1st dibs since they are the "official" canuck commanders. Hopefully they will speak up soon. ;)

Once the commanders have been assigned I will create the deploy files THEN will post the files for the units to be deployed. Additional instructions will follow in the appropriate threads once commanders have been assigned.

As we seem to have no or at best very few NATO players I will take one of the battles.

The only players that I'm aware of presently are

US: Me

Canada: DITA(Out of the net?)
Pepper(taking a pause from the cause)

Germany WALTHER??
Vas Fury(subbing for Canada)

Just an FYI, Reinforcements (those units determined to be just outside the engagement area but allowed to be included in the battle) Arty and Air will be added to the Pbem files AFTER the deployment of the base forces I have included in the Deploy files.

Hi,

Have been a bit busy at work since my return from holiday (two weeks means alot of catching up).

Anyway, I`m perfectly happy if one of the other NATO players wishes to take one of the battles, as I did have first go during the pre op recon missions.

If there is a shortage of players, then I`ll be up for it.

EDIT: if there are no takers for the Stritzling and Pleinting then I`d be up for it.

If there is a shortage of players, then I`ll be up for it.Looks like we will definately need you. :nervous:

Please pick on of the following battles;

OP1 Battle: Stritzling and Pleinting
OP1 Battle: Nord Haardorf and ParstThen go to the thread and follow the instructions in the beginning posts. The Pbem rates do not need to be fast, just as long as we keep it moving.

Well, ive been having difficulties uploading the mission files from my opponents email attachment, and ive asked him to send them to an alternate adress earlier this week, but have had no reply so far. I just guess he hasnt had the time to do it yet.
