View Full Version : Engineer Question?
In my current playtest of OLDM w/Michel - an engineer unit has held a port (Southhampton) for 3 turns - can I assume that the port facilities are destroyed & unusable? If so - this will add quite the dimension to airmobile warfare

Thread moved to the main forum from the AAR forum. Probably get more of an answer here.
Pretty sure it was a facetious (sp?) question. I believe there is no provision for anchorage destruction in TOAW.
Not really - I could'nt find my game notes - but I know I would order my engineers to
disable/destroy port facilities if my homeland was invaded! It becomes quite important in
modern warfare - you'd :cheeky: have to garrison ports so tourney players don't drop companies of engineers to wreak havoc  I took a different route - wasted an
armored brigade to get close to 2 ports - captured one - threatening the other one - all for naught
I wonder if it would be possible to use events or something to simulate it?
I don't believe the anchorages themselves can be removed but perhaps their
supply points could by using events. I don't know if their are unit icon specific
events available either.

As designer of OPLM or ODLM if you prefer, each time a harbour is captured by EU units the supply level of Coalition player is lowered.
This told, a destroyed harbour do not block landings is the beach is flat enough to receive LCT.
In OPLM the EU player get some Supply point in anchorage where they land. However after few turns the supply delivery points on anchorage hexes are removed and the supply arrival rely only on the Channel Tunnel.
Hope this highlights you a little
