Has anyone DL'ed and printed this or looked at it? Is it high enough resolution to begin deployment planning?

I think it's good enough, I can't quite see the tactical hexes but almost :)

I downloaded both and the maps are sufficient for planning purposes.

Mike,

The operational map is ok but have a hard time reading it. So I put the map as a pdf instead of a jpg file and I can zoom in and see the map details better. If you want a copy of the pdf file let me know. I zip it down and it is only 4.9MB in size.

I wanted to see if everyone could see enough on the jpg to get around. I will tweak the bmp and replace the jpg for DL soon.

It will be much clearer in the version for COCAT. :smoke:

Mike,

Is this the operational map for COCAT use? Or is this a map for players to print out to use if they don't have COCAT?

Is this the operational map for COCAT use? Or is this a map for players to print out to use if they don't have COCAT?Both. It will most likely be used for the COCAT 100% view map BUT it will need to be adjusted to meet the map sizes for COCAT.

I am new to this forum...is COCAT required to play? Is it downloadable? As far as the maps are concerned, they should be more than sufficient for planning. After all this is a 1980s campaign...maps were horrible back then (not that they are much greater now).

I am new to this forum...is COCAT required to play? No, its not required to play. Most everything will be tracked on the forums (see Island Civil War Campaign for example). The primary use for COCAT will be for graphical enhancement to see the big picture.

Is it downloadable? Links to DL an earlier version (2.2) can be found HERE (http://www.strategyzoneonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32571). We should have a revised version soon to use with this campaign but by getting the older one you will see what it can do.

Ditto, since I have finally gotten around to downloading and tinkering with COCAT some over the last day or so.

Do you have the adjustments made for it now to post? Would like to see how it looks with COCAT.Go to the "Campaign Tools" section of the NATO vs WP Website (http://www.combat-campaigns.com/spmbt/nato_wp/) and you'll find the actual replacement COCAT Maps for the Campaign.

Be advised, the zip is 21MB in size and includes the 4 necessary maps for COCAT with hex grid, hex ID #'s and prominent terrain features marked with white text.

I just went there and it isn't there? It is just the one map that you made first.

With V3 , map numbers 250-259 are replaced with others connected to some new scenario's.:OHNO:

How does this effect the campaign?
Can we renumber the maps without effecting the campaign or excisting scenatio's ?

I don't even have v3 yet, should I?You'll need it for Round 2 if you are involved in the battles. That's the version I plan to use, hopefully they'll have any added patches released soon so we can all be using the same version. I will try to give everyone using older versions time to finish up any ongoing Pbem's.

Can we renumber the maps without effecting the campaign or excisting scenatio's ?You just need to move the existing maps to a temporary folder and swap them out as needed.

The 1st thing I do is back up all my custom files before nay upgrade. Then what I do is take ALL the original scenario's, campaigns and maps and move them into a subfolder in each of the their main folders. I clean out my copies so that I have all slots open to work with and move the files around as needed.

as every one plying the campaign has to go to V3 and have the same thing showing up,
isn't it maybe wise to renumber the maps to somewhere in the 300-400 range
avoiding a lot of map swapping in folders with mistakes waiting to happen.
As we are only starting round 2 , it is not just for 1 game .

however it don't know how it effect your job controlling everything.
don't want to add to your workload. :o
