Hi all I just got Combat Missons Afrika Corps, and am having a blast. I got the special edition so I have all of the HSG missions and other new operations released including the 1.03 patch. I am hoping to try a multi-player game sometime in the near future. I usually do infantry only quick battles cuz when I have tanks I lose at breakneck speeds, even when when taking it easy! The only problem is the map editor where I cant seem to get green grass and other stuff and also no way in watching the entire battle in one whole movie :( But other than that I plan on fighting somebody sometime soon or so.
BTW New Zealanders dont look like Indains.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. Can you describe how an e-mail game is started cuz that seems rather confusing? And also whats the best all around operation and or battle to play in CMAK? My infantry tank coop needs some work. And I wouldn't mind a multi-player battle right off the bat( prefferbly tiny to medium cuz the big huge maps just overwhelm me). Thanks and hope to see you in the trenchs!

BTW liuzg150181 I really appreciate your support ;)

Fresh meat! watch out for the sharks around here! :PIMP:
I would recommend you play against the AI ( computer ) until your happy with the way units move and fire. Then jump into the shark infested waters of PBEM! :eek1: You will lose lots of battles but at the same time you will learn alot of new stuff.
I would keep the CMAK manual open next to you when playing ( and have a good read on how to use the editor ). This will add to your enjoyment of the game. Nothing worse than getting frustrated with a new game like CMAK.
Keep an eye open for CMBB....well worth buying as lots of players own this as well.
The guys here are friendly and will often answer any questions you post here.
Good luck mate! :)

Lol like brits(to me that is) except for the flag. The reason why I said that tho is because they are substituted in for the Indians in some cases. I was alittle bummbed because the indians fought in some of my favorite actions but aren't included which is dissapointing.

Unfortunately there is no way to record and watch an entire replay of a battle in any of the CM games. That would be quite nifty though.

As for your problems with the map editor. Check the date and location for your map. You won't be creating maps with green grass if you have the date set anytime before summer 1944 (I think) and/or have the location set to North Africa or Crete as odds are you'll be creating a map in the North African desert, Crete or in Southern Italy and the map editor will automatically be using either the sand, arid rock or dry dirt tilesets for the game.

mid 1944 and later the fighting is in Northern Italy so your maps set in Italy should use the grassy terrain tileset.

Oh and welcome to the forums. There are alot of CM vets here who are more than willing to provide you with tips and hints, specially in tank combat which you seem to be having problems with. Feel free to ask.

I don't remember exactly how many HSG scenarios were included in the special edition but that is far from, "all of the HSG missions."

We have over 100 scenarios that should be available again by this time next month at the new and improved The Scenario Depot II.

Just out of curiosity which HSG scenario did you like best?

Good Hunting.

Dont have a favorite HSG mission yet but am trying them out slowly. Im going from tiny to huge cuz I get very overwhelmed by the really big ones so I am working my way up.

If you want to try a friendly game in the near future gimme a dingle, you can see the differences between the bad AI and a bad player. Now, more importantly, good to have you aboard and have fun.

If he's playing HSG vs AI scenarios, he's not playing the bad AI. He's playing the, "stomp you in a mud hole and take names AI"!

If you've never played a "stomp you in a mud hole and take names AI", the get some HSG KC,MOH or VC scenarios, remove all food and beverage from the area, bring all chairs to their upright postition, and fasten your seatbelt! You are in for a wild ride!

Good Hunting.

I did play one where the canuks attack a church and defended as the germans and just barely tho as I was running out of ammo. But a sweet pincer movement threw 'em into the sea.

I played the Gemmano Ridge Operation and really gave the Brits a shalaking when they finnaly penetrated to the very top. That and a quick battle against two crack polish infantry companies in a lagre town in Italy are my best achivements thus far.

BTW what are the KC,MOH and the VC scenarios?

BTW what are the KC,MOH and the VC scenarios?

These are the hero series that HSG does.

KC - Knight's Cross

MOH - Medal of Honor

VC - Victoria Cross

These scenarios depict actions in which that nations highest award for valor was awarded to the person the scenario is named for. These can be very tough to beat. They will be labeled as such... HSG KC Lt. Oberloskamp, HSG MOH Cpt Brown, HSG VC3 Smokey's Den. It is considerably harder to get information on Hero of the Soviet Union winners but we are working on some of those too.

They are almost exclusively vs the AI battles. At this point all of the KC sceanrios are set on the Eastern Front while the MOH and VC battles of course are set in the West and Med.

Good Hunting.
