Gentlemen, I have been trying to get into CM realm for quite some time, yet other games had filled up so much time of the past.... (and now :p)
But trust me, once I get my hands a bit free from the TOAW tourney ..etc.. I will buy and play CM as soon as I can. :alien:
The question is I saw CMBB and CMBO at EBX store at the same time, each priced at $29.99 ---- do I have to buy them both in order to play with most of the friends here? Or I only need to buy CMBO (which I figured as a later version through my reading here...)?
Many thanks!

CMBB is the latest and better. Most of us are playing it. I for one have uninstalled CMBO...so there is a big difference between them.

oh Sheik, you again :D ... Thanks a lot :)
The Shiek is correct. But there's nothing wrong with also picking up the newest version (CMBOse) that started it all. It has improved graphics over the original CMBO (but still well below CMBB), additional and good battles and operations (although most of them are available from the scenario depot and other places) and mods (whiich are also available for free, if you have time to look for and download them). It's worth an extra $30.00, although I got a copy from J & R, in your home town, for a few bucks less and with free shipping.
I still have three versions of CMBO on my hard drive. The first is heavily modded version of the original release. The second is CMBOse, which may get deleted after I'm done compairing it with the original (which I have on an older laptop and my old P II 350) and modded original. The third is modded with the Pacific Theater mod. With this mod of the overall game, I can paly as the Japanese, US army or US Marines.
Some of us still like to play as and/or against the West Front Allies. You can't do that with CMBB. When CMAK comes out late this year, we will be back in business with our old GI friends in North Africa Siciliy and Italy.

Thank you very much, Cmdr :)
So I figure it also makes sense to buy both of them then... we will see :)
(BTW, NYC is not my "hometown", rather, my "operational base" :D .... I just work and live here. My hometown is Wuhan, a city in central China :) ) But J&R is surely a nice store. I used to visit it every noon after lunch, when WTC was still there ... :( ....

Sadly when I visit those stores again, I only saw CMBO, to the best, a special edition of it. But no CMBB. I doubted whether I really saw it on the shelf or it was simply my wrong impression or I confused myself with the "special edition" for CMBB...
might have to wait for another while then... :(
CMBB is not slated to be available in stores for about another month.
