View Full Version : My beloved regiment...
Comrades,
Wouldn't you all want to see how your entire home regiment looks like on the SP board?
I took the time and created some scenarios containing ALL the units of a specific regiment. There is no enemy nor objective one can just look and examine the units. The Hungarian OOB has some small inaccuraties, I could not find all units written down in WinSPMBT2.0 Hungarian OOB.
They are best used when opened in the scenario editor, there you can see the units' overall value and unit number as well. You can use it as a normal scenario set the WP nation to human at the beginning.
Enjoy!

Nice work. Its interesting to see how many actual units are involved when you have the entire Regiment like that. Sure looks like a lot of Hind's in there.
Of course I started the scenario creation with the coolest regiment of all, could you guess which unit that is? Of course the Tank Regiment :cheeky: ! Don't get me wrong, there are other units (like the BMP regiment) that are worth more points and their combat value is also higher, but hell why are we playing STEEL PANTHERS ??? :devious:
I attached a screenshot of the tank regiment scenario. I have the CD version and I use the 1280X1024 resolution. Those 99 steel beasts can do ugly things if used properly. :smoke: (Of course only id the A-10s and Cobras are not around  ).
Artur.
My very first impression is that those regiments are BIG. 2 players /regiment is a must but we should rather have 3 players /regiment...
DD I would recruit more assistants if I was you.
If I have time I will do the same for the NATO brigades. No promise though.

Wow. Simply wow.
Only a couple of things. I have done a little research into foreign unit organizations, and while my research is based mostly on the Chinese PLA, I may still be in the right ball park. What I noticed, however, is this: for the MRR and similar units, I can understand the 122mm artillery pieces for the RAG's (Regimental Artillery Group, in case you didn't know). However, its the same size artillery for the tank regiment as well. I am of the understanding that for tank regiments, and at the division artillery level as well, that the Warsaw Pact forces would use 152mm artillery battalions. Am I right in this, am I wrong or was this some sort of compromise? If a compromise, US based forces are organized in a similar fashion. Heavy brigade combat teams, such as mechanized infantry and armor brigades, use 155mm while the light infantry formations use 105m typically.
Just my thoughts; if the OOB's are already set, then don't let me be the one to rock the boat.
